GT2: Maseratis back in top form, finishing ahead of Lamborghinis and Mercedes

After a sluggish start to the season, the Maserati sign a spectacular return to form in Zandvoort. Faced with formidable rivals such as Lamborghini and Mercedes-AMG, the LP Racing and Dinamic Motorsport teams demonstrated that the Maserati GT2 has what it takes to play a leading role in the 2025 season. A difficult start at Paul Ricard

On April 11-13 at Le Castellet, hopes were slim for the Maseratis. In the first race, the best performance was a modest 5th place for LP Racing, followed by Dinamic Motorsport in 7th. But it was at the Dutch circuit of Zandvoort, on May 17 and 18, that the situation was completely reversed. In the very first race, LP Racing took victory ahead of the Lamborghinis of Micanek Motorsport, while Dinamic Motorsport secured a fine 3rd place. The message is clear: the Maserati GT2 is back up front.

The following day, Dinamic Motorsport climbed to the top step of the podium, just ahead of Micanek, while LP Racing confirmed its consistency with a solid 3rd place. Four Maseratis in the top 4 over two races sends out a strong signal to the competition.

This Maserati double was not without consequences for the discipline's usual tenors. The Lamborghini Huracans, dominant at Paul Ricard, were relegated to 2nd place in both races at Zandvoort. As for the Mercedes-AMGs, they fell back in the hierarchy, barely finishing in the top 5 or above.
