F1: Ferrari unveils the first clues about the SF-26's colors - historic colors back for 2026?

For several days now, rumors have been swirling around the future 2026 single-seater from Scuderia Ferrari. Just a few days before the official presentation of the SF-26, the Italian brand seems to be deliberately distilling the first clues about the visual identity of its next model. Formula 1. And one detail hasn't escaped anyone's notice: white, the emblematic color of the past, could well be making a comeback.

When merchandising becomes a message

In modern Formula 1, nothing is left to chance. Colors are no longer discovered only at the car's launch; they are told well in advance through merchandising, official videos and skilfully orchestrated communications on social networks. Ferrari masters this art perfectly. In recent hours, images of a possible official cap for the 2026 season have begun to circulate. Without official confirmation, this simple accessory was enough to trigger a wave of analysis among the tifosi. At issue: a marked presence of white, combined with a lighter, brighter red than that used in recent seasons. A choice that contrasts with the dark trend adopted for several years now.

Driver suits confirm the trend

The latest indication of this is the presentation of the new Ferrari driver suits. These give even greater prominence to white, particularly on the sides, sleeves and certain vertical areas, where red had previously dominated almost unchallenged. This is probably no coincidence. Historically, drivers' racing suits have often been designed as a direct extension of the single-seater's livery. By accentuating the white on the overalls to such an extent, the team seems to be preparing minds for a more visually contrasting SF-26, where white will no longer be a mere secondary element.

White, a nod to Ferrari history

The return of white is by no means insignificant. Long used by Ferrari, notably in the 1970s and 1990s, it had completely disappeared from modern liveries by 2019. In 2025, it had timidly resurfaced as a backdrop for the HP logo, the team's new title partner, but with no real visual role on the bodywork. Current indications suggest a far more profound change. White could once again become a structuring element of the SF-26, evoking mythical single-seaters such as the 312T or, more recently, the SF16-H, which already featured significant light areas at the rear. A way of reconnecting the brand with its heritage, while modernizing its image. It would also allow for better integration of sponsor HP's logo.

Another detail: the shade of red. The images and videos released by Ferrari reveal a brighter, more luminous color, breaking with the darker red adopted in recent years.

The wait is now over. On January 23, Ferrari will officially unveil the SF-26 at thea presentation on the Fiorano circuit. The first on-track images will finally confirm whether these visual clues were mere hints... or a true declaration of intent.
