The Ferrari 677 project
Team principal Frédéric Vasseur has already hinted that the new F1 2025 single-seater will mark a real turning point for Ferrari. "Project 677 will share only 1% of its components with the SF-24which makes this car a radically different model. The program includes a complete transformation of the chassis, suspension and aerodynamic surfaces. The switch to a new suspension layout pull-rodalready used by McLaren and Red Bull, should offer improved performance, especially on circuits where grip management is crucial.
While SF-24 had its ups and downs in 2024, with a promising first half of the season and a more solid finish, the Italian team is banking on this new project to come back stronger. Ferrari approaches the 2025 season with great confidenceespecially after the progress made this year, notably with successful technical upgrades during the season.
The Italian team is pulling out all the stops to ensure that its driver pairing of Leclerc and Hamilton is a success, can aim for two world titlesand with strong motivation after solid performances for 2024.
Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari: first tests at Fiorano
If the car is launched in February, fans wonder when Hamilton will get his first test with the Scuderia. Although the exact date has not yet been set, it is likely that the first test session of Lewis Hamilton takes place in Fiorano or Maranello, probably with the 2023 car. Fred Vasseur spoke of an adaptable schedule depending on weather conditions, stressing that the Ferrari simulator would be an invaluable tool for Hamilton to familiarize himself with the specifics of the Ferrari steering wheel.
"It's not a major challenge," assured Vasseur. "Hamilton has enough experience to quickly assimilate the procedures, and we have the advantage of being able to use the simulator for testing before moving on to the real car."
