Alfa Romeo: what surprises is the brand planning for its 115th anniversary?

June 24, 2025, Alfa Romeo will celebrate a symbolic milestone: its 115th anniversary. An important date that the Italian manufacturer has no intention of ignoring. To mark the occasion, Alfa Romeo has already unveiled a commemorative logo dedicated to the anniversary. All the more reason to speculate on what the brand has in store for this special occasion.

Just ten years ago, in 2015, Alfa Romeo celebrated its 105th anniversary with the presentation of the Giulia, an iconic model that marked a renaissance for the brand with its propulsion architecture and bold design. It's a fitting way to lend historical weight to every major anniversary. So, what gift will the brand be offering its fans this year?

A new Stelvio? Not very likely...

For a long time, we imagined that the 115th anniversary would be the perfect occasion to present the new Stelvio. Based on an all-new STLA Large platform, with all-new powertrains, the brand's future SUV was tipped for this symbolic date. But the latest news has dampened those hopes.

You've got it read here firstThe presentation of the new Stelvio is now expected for the end of 2025, with marketing in the spring of 2026. What's more, the Cassino plant's workers' union is even talking about production starting in the second half of 2026. Unless there's a surprise in the form of official photos or a static presentation, so it seems unlikely that the Stelvio will be at the heart of the June 24 festivities.

An update for the Tonale?

More plausible: the Tonale SUV should benefit from an update in mid-2025. But details remain unclear. Aesthetic restyling? Technical upgrades? Nothing has been confirmed, but June 24 could be the right time to unveil this update, to revive interest in a model that is struggling to maintain its sales momentum despite 100,000 units produced.

A new supercar for enthusiasts?

What if Alfa Romeo played the dream card? In August 2023, the brand created a sensation with the 33 Stradale, an ultra-limited edition supercar.which sold just 33 units. At the time, the automaker indicated that another exclusive project was in the pipeline. Two years later, it seems the ideal occasion to unveil a new supercar, perhaps in the same spirit, on such a symbolic anniversary. Unlikely for some, highly desirable for all Alfisti.

Anniversario" special series?

Finally, a more down-to-earth but credible scenario: the presentation of "Anniversario" limited series for the current range (Junior, Giulia, Stelvio, Tonale). An accessible way of marking the event with an exclusive design, specific badges, and perhaps some new equipment. No revolution here, but an effective marketing wink, especially if the models bear the 115th anniversary logo.

What would you like to discover on June 24?

A new model, an update, a special series, or a surprise supercar? With two months to go before the big day, anything is still possible. One thing's for sure: Alfa Romeo has always known how to play with its fans' emotions. 8 opinions on "Alfa Romeo: what surprises is the brand planning for its 115th anniversary?"

  1. It's been a long time since Alfa Romeo made people dream (since Giulia and Stelvio).
Pininfarina, Giugiaro, Touring, Centro Stile Alfa... They must cry, THEY knew what DNA meant.

Anyone who dares say that a Tonale or a Junior makes their heart beat is living in denial.

When you drive an Alfa Romeo, you must feel this inexplicable pride.
These last two models are simply sewing machines on wheels.

I'm so sad. I really am.

    • The media are all happy because Alfa Romeo manages to sell a few Juniors, but if they'd brought out a true descendant of the Giulietta they'd have sold at least twice as many...

  2. What would be really nice for an anniversary would be for the Stellantis to realize that Alfa Romeo is not Peugeot, because Alfa Romeo knows how to make real engines.
It would be really great, much more effective than pretending to think about a new anniversary acronym, but are they capable of anything better?

  4. I don't hope for much anymore... Stellantis doesn't know how to make people "dream"...
A Tonale or, even worse, a Junior just doesn't appeal, so a special logo with new PSA-style rims...
