Isto soa-lhe familiar? Depois de John Surtees ter conquistado o t\u00edtulo em 1964, vieram os tempos de vacas magras: as equipas brit\u00e2nicas inovaram e encontraram um excelente aliado no Cosworth V8, enquanto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/pt\/ferrari\/\">Ferrari<\/a> n\u00e3o podia deixar de sofrer de crises internas e de conservadorismo t\u00e9cnico, para n\u00e3o falar das suas dificuldades financeiras, que obrigaram o Comendador a agarrar-se a uma t\u00e1bua de salva\u00e7\u00e3o chamada FIAT. Entre 1965 e 1969, a Ferrari ganhou apenas tr\u00eas grandes pr\u00e9mios!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">O g\u00e9nio do pugilista n\u00e3o \u00e9 suficiente<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Em 1969, quando o gigante FIAT adquiriu uma participa\u00e7\u00e3o de 50% na Ferrari, Mauro Forghieri deixou a dire\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00e9cnica da equipa para dirigir o departamento de I&amp;D, que produziu uma maravilha: o motor plano de 12 cilindros com um \u00e2ngulo de 180\u00b0, conhecido como \u201cboxer\u201d devido \u00e0 disposi\u00e7\u00e3o dos cilindros.  Este novo motor tornar-se-\u00e1 um dos motores mais emblem\u00e1ticos da hist\u00f3ria da Ferrari, tanto em carros de competi\u00e7\u00e3o como de estrada.  Com 4 v\u00e1lvulas por cilindro e, sobretudo, 450 cv \u00e0s 11.000 rpm, a sua vers\u00e3o de competi\u00e7\u00e3o contribuiu para o renascimento da Scuderia em 1970. Compacto e leve, permitiu a conce\u00e7\u00e3o de um eficiente monolugar 312B com um centro de gravidade muito baixo. O resultado? O cavalo empinado terminou em segundo lugar no campeonato do mundo, atr\u00e1s da Lotus, enquanto Jacky Ickx e Clay Regazzoni voltaram a ganhar corridas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mas a Ferrari n\u00e3o tardou a voltar aos seus velhos h\u00e1bitos: a evolu\u00e7\u00e3o do monolugar 312B2, com uma nova geometria de suspens\u00e3o, n\u00e3o foi satisfat\u00f3ria e os resultados das \u00e9pocas de 1971 e 1972 foram bastante decepcionantes. A Ferrari estava a correr na F1 e nas corridas de resist\u00eancia ao mesmo tempo, o que consumia muitos recursos. Demasiados? No ver\u00e3o de 1972, Mauro Forghieri regressou ao seu gabinete de design para encontrar solu\u00e7\u00f5es para a proeza da Lotus, que tinha revolucionado a F1 com a introdu\u00e7\u00e3o de pont\u00f5es laterais que incorporavam radiadores, mudando radicalmente o aspeto dos monolugares para lhes dar a sua forma moderna, mais elegante e mais aerodin\u00e2mica. O resultado foi um carro revolucion\u00e1rio: o 312B3. O carro tinha uma dist\u00e2ncia entre eixos muito curta de 2.250 mm, inspirada no Lotus 72, concebida para proporcionar uma agilidade not\u00e1vel, ideal para circuitos sinuosos e para absorver solavancos e vibra\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00c9 um cabo, uma pen\u00ednsula!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>O seu centro de gravidade, muito baixo entre o eixo dianteiro e o eixo traseiro, deve otimizar o apoio aerodin\u00e2mico. Solu\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00e9cnica utilizada at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o, a estrutura tubular em a\u00e7o foi abandonada em favor de um monocoque totalmente em alum\u00ednio. Este foi o primeiro chassis deste tipo da Ferrari. A sua carater\u00edstica f\u00edsica distintiva era inegavelmente a sua proa imponente, com um nariz muito horizontal que cobria toda a largura da dist\u00e2ncia entre eixos. O dep\u00f3sito de combust\u00edvel est\u00e1 posicionado atr\u00e1s do motor. Tudo isto foi poss\u00edvel gra\u00e7as \u00e0 utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o do conceito de dois radiadores de \u00e1gua laterais, j\u00e1 presente num Lotus. Isto aproximou o centro de gravidade do carro e permitiu a instala\u00e7\u00e3o de uma asa dianteira de tamanho normal sem obstruir o fluxo de ar para os radiadores. Forghieri estava, assim, a experimentar solu\u00e7\u00f5es aerodin\u00e2micas que prefiguravam o efeito de solo e as saias laterais que iriam revolucionar o desempenho da F1 alguns anos mais tarde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">O rosto de um limpa-neves<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No final de 1972, o novo 312 B3 foi amplamente testado por Jacky Ickx e Arturo Merzario na nova pista de testes privada de Fiorano, mas os pilotos consideraram o carro \u00abvicioso\u00bb e dif\u00edcil de conduzir, particularmente em curvas r\u00e1pidas devido \u00e0 curta dist\u00e2ncia entre eixos que o tornava inst\u00e1vel. Sem d\u00favida que a Ferrari n\u00e3o gostou da compara\u00e7\u00e3o! O problema \u00e9 que os mec\u00e2nicos tamb\u00e9m se queixavam do tempo necess\u00e1rio para mudar o motor - 8 horas - e da falta de praticidade das opera\u00e7\u00f5es de manuten\u00e7\u00e3o na carro\u00e7aria. O trabalho na F1 foi assumido pelo seu sucessor, Sandro Colombo, que incorporou alguns elementos dos projectos de Forghieri no seu \u2018312 B3\u2019, mas com uma abordagem mais conservadora e sem grande sucesso. A equipa foi desestabilizada, enquanto as rela\u00e7\u00f5es com a FIAT se tornaram tensas, num contexto de crise econ\u00f3mica e greves. Mas foi sempre concebido como um carro experimental. Para mim, foi a base para estudar a aerodin\u00e2mica.
