Carro\u00e7aria imperfeita, pormenores estranhos... e, sobretudo, um farolim traseiro em falta. No entanto, este pormenor n\u00e3o \u00e9 o resultado de um acidente ou de uma repara\u00e7\u00e3o mal feita. Pelo contr\u00e1rio, \u00e9 a assinatura vis\u00edvel de um dos segredos mais bem guardados da hist\u00f3ria autom\u00f3vel moderna. Porque este Diablo n\u00e3o \u00e9 um <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/pt\/lamborghini\/\">Lamborghini<\/a> como os outros: serviu de laborat\u00f3rio para o motor que viria a dar origem ao Bugatti Veyron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Um Diablo que n\u00e3o \u00e9 bem um Diablo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Quando se olha de perto para este Lamborghini Diablo, h\u00e1 algo que n\u00e3o parece estar bem. As propor\u00e7\u00f5es parecem ligeiramente alteradas, as entradas de ar s\u00e3o mais numerosas do que num modelo de produ\u00e7\u00e3o e a extremidade traseira parece quase remendada. Isto n\u00e3o \u00e9 um acidente. Este autom\u00f3vel \u00e9 uma mula de testes desenvolvida no final dos anos 90, numa altura em que o grupo Volkswagen preparava secretamente um projeto totalmente absurdo. Nessa altura, a Volkswagen tinha acabado de adquirir a Lamborghini e a Bugatti. \u00c0 frente do grupo, Ferdinand Pi\u00ebch tinha uma ambi\u00e7\u00e3o clara: criar o autom\u00f3vel de produ\u00e7\u00e3o mais potente e mais r\u00e1pido alguma vez fabricado. Para o conseguir, precisava de um novo motor, sem compromissos e sem rival. Um motor absolutamente n\u00e3o convencional: 16 cilindros, 8,0 litros de cilindrada, quatro turbocompressores e uma pot\u00eancia prevista de 1.001 bhp, quase o dobro dos supercarros da \u00e9poca. Um motor t\u00e3o grande que nenhuma plataforma existente foi realmente concebida para o acomodar. Em vez de desenvolver um chassis espec\u00edfico para esta fase de testes, a Volkswagen fez uma escolha arrojada. O Lamborghini Diablo, largo, baixo e com um motor central traseiro, parecia ser o melhor candidato. As suas dimens\u00f5es generosas permitiram encaixar o W16 entre as rodas traseiras, embora com algumas modifica\u00e7\u00f5es importantes. Mas tudo se ajusta ao mil\u00edmetro. O W16 ocupa tanto espa\u00e7o que os engenheiros t\u00eam de fazer concess\u00f5es. O farolim traseiro esquerdo foi sacrificado por falta de espa\u00e7o. Este pormenor, quase aned\u00f3tico na apar\u00eancia, era de facto a prova mais vis\u00edvel da enormidade do motor e do car\u00e1cter experimental deste prot\u00f3tipo. O carro tornou-se ent\u00e3o uma verdadeira manta de retalhos t\u00e9cnica. Apresenta elementos do Diablo SV, do Diablo GT e at\u00e9 far\u00f3is de outros modelos do grupo. O objetivo n\u00e3o era a est\u00e9tica, mas a valida\u00e7\u00e3o mec\u00e2nica: arrefecimento, fiabilidade, comportamento em carga elevada. N\u00e3o se destinava nem \u00e0 imprensa nem ao p\u00fablico. Foi conduzido, testado e por vezes sofrido, mas sempre longe das luzes da ribalta. Foi apenas recentemente que surgiram imagens dos arquivos da Autostadt, revelando este Frankenstein autom\u00f3vel ao p\u00fablico em geral. Atualmente, este Lamborghini Diablo experimental pode ser visto no museu Autostadt em Wolfsburg. Um local muito simb\u00f3lico, a dois passos da f\u00e1brica da Volkswagen, onde est\u00e3o expostas as pe\u00e7as mais significativas da hist\u00f3ria do grupo. Olhando para tr\u00e1s, \u00e9 fascinante notar que um dos motores mais lend\u00e1rios da hist\u00f3ria do automobilismo fez a sua estreia num Lamborghini e n\u00e3o num Bugatti.
