O termo \"chubasco\" refere-se a uma violenta rajada de vento com trov\u00f5es e rel\u00e2mpagos que ocorre durante a esta\u00e7\u00e3o das chuvas ao longo da costa do Pac\u00edfico do M\u00e9xico, Am\u00e9rica Central e Am\u00e9rica do Sul. Dez anos antes da Pagani e dos seus supercarros com nomes de ventos argentinos, um fabricante j\u00e1 estava a aproveitar o poder imagin\u00e1rio dos elementos americanos: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/pt\/maserati\/\">Maserati<\/a> apresentou um concept car em 1990 que poderia ter abalado <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/pt\/ferrari\/\">Ferrari<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ambi\u00e7\u00e3o<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nos anos 80, a Maserati sobreviveu gra\u00e7as \u00e0 boa rece\u00e7\u00e3o do Biturbo, mas faltava ao Tridente um \"porta-estandarte\" que lhe permitisse elevar o nome Modena a um n\u00edvel superior. Em dezembro de 1990, por ocasi\u00e3o do anivers\u00e1rio anual da Casa, a Maserati apresentou tr\u00eas novos modelos. A vers\u00e3o final do Shamal, pronta para produ\u00e7\u00e3o, e o Racing, o novo coup\u00e9 de 2 litros com 285 cv. Mas a estrela do espet\u00e1culo foi um carro completamente novo, tanto est\u00e9tica como mecanicamente, em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com a gama Maserati existente. Apresentado na sua forma ainda est\u00e1tica (mock-up), o produto acabado deveria ser revelado no in\u00edcio de 1992 e seduziu completamente os convidados admiradores. Para obter os desempenhos desejados, foi escolhido o chassis de trave central pela sua excelente rigidez, gra\u00e7as, nomeadamente, a um motor montado numa posi\u00e7\u00e3o traseira central. Esta foi concebida para deixar espa\u00e7o para duas grandes condutas laterais para a passagem e distribui\u00e7\u00e3o do ar. A estrutura central em favo de mel de alum\u00ednio \u00e9 constitu\u00edda por subquadros nervurados em liga leve para suportar a suspens\u00e3o e o motor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">O maestro Gandini a trabalhar\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/maserati-chubasco-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43843\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/maserati-chubasco-5.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/maserati-chubasco-5-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/maserati-chubasco-5-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/maserati-chubasco-5-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Para o design, foi chamado o mestre Marcello Gandini. O visual do Chubasco \u00e9 ao mesmo tempo agressivo e fluido, antecipando de forma surpreendente o design de alguns conceitos el\u00e9ctricos e hiperdesportivos actuais. O design mistura habilmente tra\u00e7os da forma em cunha t\u00e3o cara ao mestre que concebeu o Countach e o Diablo, mas com um toque agrad\u00e1vel de curvas aerodin\u00e2micas e superf\u00edcies limpas. Na frente, o fluxo de ar \u00e9 aspirado atrav\u00e9s de tr\u00eas grandes entradas de ar frontais, sendo depois acelerado e descarregado lateralmente sob as portas, criando uma queda de press\u00e3o sob os pain\u00e9is laterais.  Tudo isto acentua o efeito de solo produzido pela rampa traseira e pela parte inferior da carro\u00e7aria plana, para que o autom\u00f3vel fique colado ao ch\u00e3o. O grande spoiler traseiro visto em esbo\u00e7os anteriores n\u00e3o estava presente no concept car. O monocoque ou carro\u00e7aria \u00e9 concebido idealmente como uma c\u00e9lula flutuante ligada ao chassis por suportes de absor\u00e7\u00e3o de choques que absorvem as vibra\u00e7\u00f5es do motor, da transmiss\u00e3o, da suspens\u00e3o e das rodas, isolando o compartimento do condutor de toda a gama de frequ\u00eancias de ru\u00eddo, vibra\u00e7\u00e3o e tor\u00e7\u00e3o. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A FIAT trava<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A derradeira carater\u00edstica \u00e9 o teto de abrir el\u00e9trico, que pode ser recuado sobre o compartimento do motor para uma condu\u00e7\u00e3o ao ar livre (ou para um arrefecimento extra, em caso de necessidade!). O plano era utilizar o V8 twin-turbo de 3,2 litros do Shamal, aumentado para 430 cv, com pot\u00eancia transmitida \u00e0s rodas traseiras atrav\u00e9s de uma caixa manual de seis velocidades e de um diferencial de deslizamento limitado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Maserati Chubasco \" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/OUIaeH3SSSU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A inten\u00e7\u00e3o inicial era produzir 450 autom\u00f3veis a partir de 1992, mas no espa\u00e7o de dois anos, o contexto pol\u00edtico mudou completamente. A bolha econ\u00f3mica rebentou e interrompeu o frenesim dos supercarros. A Fiat, que se tornou o acionista maiorit\u00e1rio da Maserati, considerou o projeto demasiado pr\u00f3ximo da Ferrari e pressionou para que fosse abandonado, pois era demasiado dispendioso. Assim, o Chubasco continua a ser um modelo, exposto no Museu Panini, nos arredores de Modena. No entanto, o projeto serviu de base para o Maserati Barchetta, constru\u00eddo no \u00e2mbito do campeonato de conce\u00e7\u00e3o \u00fanica em 1992-1993.
