O carro foi originalmente projetado por Gianfranco Mantovani, mais conhecido como \"Wainer\". Este famoso tuner italiano come\u00e7ou nos anos 50 com um F\u00f3rmula Junior e ganhou fama ao construir os seus pr\u00f3prios monolugares de F3, movidos a Fiat e Alfa Romeo. Construir um prot\u00f3tipo de corrida todo-o-terreno capaz de enfrentar provas de resist\u00eancia como a Targa Florio ou ralis extremos como o Safari e o Paris-Dakar, competi\u00e7\u00f5es que estavam em alta na viragem dos anos 70 e 80. Se <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/pt\/alfa-romeo\/\">Alfa Romeo<\/a> Wainer j\u00e1 tinha um historial comprovado nos ralis com o Giulietta, o Giulia GT e outros modelos Tubolare, mas o rally-raid n\u00e3o era propriamente o campo de jogos para os carros milaneses. Wainer j\u00e1 tinha concebido um Fiat 500 com tra\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0s quatro rodas para um amigo sul-americano na d\u00e9cada de 1960. Tinha instalado um motor na parte da frente da pequena bomba de tra\u00e7\u00e3o traseira. Porque n\u00e3o tentar o inverso?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">O regresso do Bimotore!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>O chassis de base utilizado \u00e9 o de um Alfasud Ti 1200 de 1974, que alterou os h\u00e1bitos da fam\u00edlia Alfasud ao adotar a tra\u00e7\u00e3o dianteira. A carater\u00edstica distintiva do carro \u00e9 a presen\u00e7a de dois motores boxer de 4 cilindros, cada um com uma capacidade de 1.186cc e 79bhp: um na frente, na sua configura\u00e7\u00e3o original, e outro na traseira, montado numa posi\u00e7\u00e3o central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O esp\u00edrito do Citro\u00ebn 2CV Sahara de 1957, que foi apresentado com dois motores de 425 cc! A Cooper tamb\u00e9m tentou a sua sorte nos anos 60 com o Twini, uma vers\u00e3o com dois motores do Mini Cooper, que competiu na Targa Florio de 1963. A Alfa Romeo n\u00e3o \u00e9 alheia a carros com dois motores, como mostram os seguintes exemplos <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/pt\/alfa-romeo\/alfa-romeo-bimotore-16-c-quando-enzo-ferrari-quis-responder-as-poderosas-maquinas-alemas-com-dois-8-cilindros-de-540-cv\/\">o monolugar 16C<\/a> que tinha sido concebido em 1935. (Ou quase)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>O segundo motor substituiu os bancos traseiros: o banco traseiro desapareceu e uma cobertura amov\u00edvel permite o acesso ao motor para facilitar a manuten\u00e7\u00e3o, essencial nas corridas de longa dist\u00e2ncia. O dep\u00f3sito de combust\u00edvel foi aumentado para cerca de 80 litros para compensar o consumo simult\u00e2neo dos dois motores. Duas entradas de ar laterais pretas alojam dois radiadores com ventoinhas el\u00e9ctricas para arrefecer o segundo motor, al\u00e9m de um radiador de \u00f3leo adicional. A suspens\u00e3o MacPherson e os trav\u00f5es de disco tamb\u00e9m eram utilizados em ambos os eixos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As duas caixas de velocidades est\u00e3o ligadas \u00e0 mesma alavanca de velocidades central e as duas embraiagens s\u00e3o acionadas pelo mesmo pedal. Foi instalado um sistema de escape separado para o segundo motor e a instrumenta\u00e7\u00e3o foi duplicada para permitir o controlo de ambos os motores. Como os colectores estavam agora orientados para a frente do carro, os tubos de escape tinham de se estender para a frente, antes de fazerem uma meia volta no centro do carro e depois voltarem para o outro lado do outro escape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/alfasud-wainer-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43609\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/alfasud-wainer-7.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/alfasud-wainer-7-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/alfasud-wainer-7-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/alfasud-wainer-7-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Foto Paolo Carlini para a RM Sotheby's<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>O desenvolvimento foi muito delicado: sincronizar dois motores, duas caixas de velocidades e duas embraiagens acionadas pelo mesmo comando n\u00e3o \u00e9 tarefa f\u00e1cil. Embora fosse poss\u00edvel fazer funcionar apenas um motor de cada vez, para que o autom\u00f3vel pudesse avan\u00e7ar, era necess\u00e1rio que ambos os motores estivessem a funcionar. Os n\u00fameros eram impressionantes para um autom\u00f3vel t\u00e3o at\u00edpico: prometia uma acelera\u00e7\u00e3o dos 0 aos 100 km\/h em cerca de 8,2 segundos e uma velocidade m\u00e1xima de 215 km\/h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assim, apesar do seu design arrojado e do seu potencial, este Alfasud bimotor nunca participou nos grandes ralis. O sistema mec\u00e2nico e de transmiss\u00e3o deve ter causado muitos problemas! O m\u00e1ximo que temos s\u00e3o fotografias que mostram testes intensivos em condi\u00e7\u00f5es dif\u00edceis e com neve. Ficou na fase de prot\u00f3tipo, mas escapou \u00e0 sucata.
