Um sonho italo-americano, nascido na Calif\u00f3rnia, em S\u00e3o Francisco, e fabricado em It\u00e1lia, em Modena. <strong>O \u00fanico autom\u00f3vel comercializado foi o Mangusta, que recebeu o nome do modelo De Tomaso com o mesmo nome.<\/strong> \u00c9 l\u00f3gico, uma vez que o carro deveria ter sido originalmente chamado De Tomaso. A hist\u00f3ria do Manugsta \u00e9 tamb\u00e9m a hist\u00f3ria de um imbr\u00f3glio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Um velho amigo para o salvamento<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No in\u00edcio dos anos 90, o lend\u00e1rio fundador Alessandro de Tomaso debatia-se com problemas de sa\u00fade, mas tamb\u00e9m tinha de salvar a sua marca moribunda. O seu \"imp\u00e9rio\" j\u00e1 tinha sido obrigado a vender a Maserati, a Innocenti e a Moto Guzzi para reabastecer os seus cofres. A Pantera est\u00e1 a envelhecer, enquanto a Guara \u00e9 um fracasso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspirado por TR Griffith, <strong>Em 1996, a De Tomaso apresentou um conceito denominado Bigua, mas que n\u00e3o podia passar da fase de prot\u00f3tipo sem um investimento financeiro adequado.<\/strong> Depois de ter sido recusada pelo governo italiano, a De Tomaso recorreu a um velho conhecido, a fam\u00edlia norueguesa Qvale, que importava a De Tomaso para os Estados Unidos desde os anos 60, bem como a Maserati, quando o Tridente tinha passado para a bandeira argentina. O pai, Kjell, foi o primeiro importador da Jaguar na Costa Oeste e chegou a ser propriet\u00e1rio da marca brit\u00e2nica Jensen, at\u00e9 \u00e0 sua fal\u00eancia em 1976. <strong>Bruce, o seu filho, foi conquistado pela ideia e investiu na de Tomaso, tornando-se o seu acionista maiorit\u00e1rio.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">O Mangusto rompe uma velha amizade<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>S\u00f3 que a coisa azedou rapidamente. <strong>Entre De Tomaso e Qvale n\u00e3o h\u00e1 apenas diverg\u00eancias sobre o projeto, mas sobretudo uma luta pelo poder.<\/strong> De Tomaso n\u00e3o tinha qualquer inten\u00e7\u00e3o de ser despojado da sua marca.  Em 1998, a fam\u00edlia Qvale criou a Qvale Modena SpA para produzir o Mangusta. Assim, embora o modelo tenha sido apresentado no Sal\u00e3o Autom\u00f3vel de Los Angeles em 2000 com o nome De Tomaso, e os primeiros modelos tenham sido produzidos com este emblema, a produ\u00e7\u00e3o foi posteriormente transferida para a Qvale. <strong>Consequentemente, os primeiros compradores tiveram de se deslocar ao concession\u00e1rio para substituir os seus emblemas.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">N\u00e3o \u00e9 um look f\u00e1cil!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta mudan\u00e7a, ali\u00e1s, j\u00e1 condena o modelo, pois Qvale n\u00e3o tem legitimidade e \u00e9 dif\u00edcil de pronunciar! E, no entanto, foram envolvidos alguns talentos de renome: O chassis foi desenhado por Enrique Scalabroni, antigo projetista de F\u00f3rmula 1 com s\u00f3lida experi\u00eancia na Dallara, Williams e Ferrari. As linhas do Mangusta s\u00e3o bastante confusas e maci\u00e7as, com uma linha de tejadilho muito alta e, acima de tudo, uma dianteira mal sucedida com um spoiler em forma de pin\u00e7a e far\u00f3is feios, escondidos pela grelha, que parecem ter sido retirados de um Ford Ka. Existem alguns pormenores at\u00edpicos, como as cavas das rodas traseiras inclinadas do Mangusta, uma marca registada da Gandini. Quanto \u00e0 popa, apresenta um para-choques at\u00edpico que destaca as luzes alojadas atr\u00e1s de uma grelha preta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mas com originalidade!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>O Mangusta utiliza um generoso motor de 4,6 litros derivado do Ford Mustang, que at\u00e9 receber\u00e1 uma prepara\u00e7\u00e3o Saleen. O que realmente distingue este supercarro \u00e9 o seu mecanismo \u00fanico de teto \"roto-top\", que desliza para a frente para permitir a remo\u00e7\u00e3o do painel central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/mangusta-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39358\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/mangusta-2.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/mangusta-2-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/mangusta-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/mangusta-2-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Foto Boris Adolf para a RM Sotheby's<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A desmontagem da estrutura \u00e9 feita em apenas tr\u00eas passos: retirar o painel central leve, desapertando dois fechos (10 segundos), baixar a sec\u00e7\u00e3o targa com bot\u00e3o de press\u00e3o atr\u00e1s dos bancos ou enfrentar uma tempestade de vento a mais de 65 km\/h (10 segundos) e arrumar o painel central na bagageira (10 minutos).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Em contraste com o exterior caprichoso, o interior \u00e9 cl\u00e1ssico, mas muito elegante e bem acabado. A Visteon, a divis\u00e3o de p\u00f3s-venda da Ford, fornece grande parte do habit\u00e1culo e foi premiada com um log\u00f3tipo gravado no apoio dos bancos. O painel de instrumentos, os bancos e os acabamentos revestidos a pele s\u00e3o exclusivos do Mangusta e apresentam quil\u00f3metros de costuras triplas perfeitamente cosidas. Os sofisticados frisos cromados rodeiam a alavanca das mudan\u00e7as, cada puxador das portas e a placa do ar condicionado. O vidro lateral n\u00e3o desce at\u00e9 ao fim e o trav\u00e3o de m\u00e3o esquerdo s\u00f3 pode ser acedido apertando desajeitadamente o bra\u00e7o entre o painel da porta e o banco! <strong>Entre 2000 e 2002, a Qvale construiu 284 autom\u00f3veis, a maior parte dos quais foram exportados para os Estados Unidos. <\/strong>A falta de uma marca reconhecida, a recess\u00e3o econ\u00f3mica e o design invulgar dificultaram a comercializa\u00e7\u00e3o do autom\u00f3vel.
