Na geruchten over BYD, Leapmotor en JAC Motors komt Dongfeng nu eindelijk in actie. Bovendien heeft de Chinese groep al een keuze gemaakt tussen Frankrijk en Itali\u00eb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In een officieel persbericht dat op 20 mei 2026 werd gepubliceerd, kondigden Stellantis en Dongfeng hun intentie aan om een nieuwe Europese joint venture op te richten die zich zal toeleggen op de verkoop, distributie, productie, aankoop en engineeringactiviteiten rond de elektrische voertuigen van de Chinese autoconstructeur. Deze aankondiging markeert een nieuwe fase in de toenadering tussen Stellantis en de Chinese autoconcerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar \u00e9\u00e9n detail trekt bijzondere aandacht in Itali\u00eb: de toekomstige Europese productie van het Chinese topmerk Voyah zal worden gevestigd... in Rennes, Frankrijk, en niet in Cassino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Voyah: het Chinese topmerk dat nog onbekend is in Europa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hoewel de naam Voyah nog grotendeels onbekend is bij het grote publiek in Europa, vertegenwoordigt het merk een van Dongfeng's meest ambitieuze projecten. Voyah, opgericht in 2019, is de premium elektrische divisie van de Chinese gigant Dongfeng Motor. Het merk is gespecialiseerd in topklasse elektrische voertuigen en plug-in hybrides, met premium SUV's, sedans en MPV's die zijn ontworpen om te concurreren met Europese en Amerikaanse fabrikanten op het gebied van technologische luxe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"776\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/voyah-berline.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/voyah-berline.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/voyah-berline-420x272.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/voyah-berline-768x497.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/voyah-berline-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Voyah ZhuiGuang<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Voyah heeft al verschillende modellen op de Chinese markt, waaronder de Free SUV, de Passion sedan en de Dreamer MPV. Het merk profiteert ook van een technologisch partnerschap met Huawei voor de ontwikkeling van intelligente boordsystemen. Een ander interessant element is dat het design van de eerste Voyah-modellen is ontwikkeld in samenwerking met Italdesign. Na lanceringen in Noorwegen, Isra\u00ebl, Spanje en Itali\u00eb in 2024 wil Dongfeng nu zijn Europese aanwezigheid versnellen. En om dit te bereiken wordt lokale productie bijna onmisbaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rennes in plaats van Cassino<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit is waarschijnlijk de belangrijkste informatie in deze aankondiging. In het persbericht stelt Stellantis dat de twee groepen \u00abook de potenti\u00eble productie van Dongfeng NEV-voertuigen in de fabriek van Rennes in Frankrijk overwegen, in lijn met de Europese regelgeving en Made in Europe-vereisten\u00bb. Met andere woorden, Dongfeng heeft Rennes gekozen om zijn toekomstige premium elektrische modellen voor Europa te assembleren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deze keuze sluit, in ieder geval tijdelijk, de deur voor de Italiaanse fabriek in Cassino, die de afgelopen weken regelmatig werd genoemd in discussies over de Chinese partnerschappen van Stellantis. Vanuit Itali\u00eb gezien zal de beslissing zeker een reactie uitlokken. De fabriek in Cassino maakt momenteel een zeer moeilijke periode door, met extreem lage volumes voor de Alfa Romeo Giulia, Alfa Romeo Stelvio en Maserati Grecale. Italiaanse vakbonden vragen al maanden om een echt industrieel plan om de fabriek weer op gang te helpen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volgens verschillende recente berichten in de Italiaanse pers was Dongfeng een van de Chinese groepen die ge\u00efnteresseerd waren in de ongebruikte capaciteit in Cassino. Uiteindelijk kozen Stellantis en Dongfeng echter voor Rennes, dat ook grotendeels onderbenut is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stellantis voert het tempo van zijn Chinese allianties op<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bovenal bevestigt deze aankondiging een fundamentele trend: Stellantis bouwt nu steeds meer bruggen met Chinese fabrikanten. Na de samenwerking met Leapmotor in Spanje, gesprekken met BYD en geruchten die JAC Motors en Maserati met elkaar verbinden, laat de overeenkomst met Dongfeng zien dat de groep onder leiding van Antonio Filosa deze strategie nu volledig omarmt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het autoconcern lijkt te hebben gekozen voor een zeer pragmatische aanpak: Chinese elektrische technologie\u00ebn gebruiken, zijn onderbenutte Europese fabrieken vullen en meer concurrerende modellen aanbieden met het oog op de wereldwijde concurrentie. In het offici\u00eble persbericht spreekt Antonio Filosa van \u00abeen nieuwe dimensie\u00bb in de samenwerking met Dongfeng.
