Al enkele weken is er een constante stroom van informatie over Stellantis<\/a> heeft de Groep besloten haar inspanningen te concentreren op vier prioritaire merken, namelijk Fiat<\/a>, Peugeot, Jeep en RAM. Deze stap kan voor sommige waarnemers als een verrassing komen, vooral gezien het gigantische portfolio van de Frans-Italiaans-Amerikaanse fabrikant. De industri\u00eble en financi\u00eble logica achter deze beslissing is echter vrij duidelijk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stellantis wil de zaken snel weer op de rails krijgen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Na een gecompliceerde periode die werd gekenmerkt door dalende verkopen in verschillende markten, hoge voorraden en krappe marges, lijkt Stellantis zich nu te willen richten op onmiddellijke effici\u00ebntie in plaats van riskante gokjes op de lange termijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waarom deze vier merken? Simpelweg omdat het al wereldmerken zijn die snel volume kunnen genereren. Jeep, Peugeot en Fiat hebben wereldwijd elk meer dan een miljoen verkopen per jaar. Ze hebben al solide netwerken, aangepaste fabrieken en bovenal een gevestigd klantenbestand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het doel is dus eenvoudig: de inkomsten maximaliseren, de winst herstellen en de fabrieken zo snel mogelijk op volle toeren laten draaien. Kortom, Stellantis is vooral op zoek naar merken die snel zichtbare resultaten kunnen leveren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aan de andere kant zijn sommige van de Italiaanse merken van de Groep nog steeds te kwetsbaar om zelf de groei aan te jagen. Lancia haalt nauwelijks meer dan 10.000 verkopen per jaar, Alfa Romeo schommelt rond de 70.000 eenheden, terwijl Maserati onder de 10.000 is gezakt. Dit betekent niet dat ze in de steek zijn gelaten, verre van dat. Maar ze moeten nog steeds bewijzen dat ze weer winstgevend kunnen worden en hun verkoop weer op gang kunnen brengen. Voorlopig zijn zij duidelijk niet degenen die Stellantis in staat zullen stellen om recordomzetten te boeken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waarom Fiat werd verkozen boven Opel en Citro\u00ebn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Op papier was de keuze voor Fiat echter niet voor de hand liggend. In Europa is het Italiaanse merk al lang niet meer dominant. In 2025 zal Opel ongeveer 400.000 auto's per jaar hebben verkocht, Citro\u00ebn ongeveer 350.000, terwijl Fiat er minder dan 300.000 zal hebben verkocht. Maar Stellantis denkt niet langer alleen in Europa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit is precies waar Fiat het verschil maakt. Het Italiaanse merk is nog steeds zeer sterk vertegenwoordigd in verschillende strategische regio's in de wereld. In Latijns-Amerika, met name in Brazili\u00eb en Argentini\u00eb, doet Fiat het al jaren goed en worden er inmiddels meer dan 600.000 auto's per jaar verkocht. Het merk profiteert van een zeer sterk populair imago en een assortiment dat perfect is afgestemd op de lokale behoeften.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiat is ook van oudsher aanwezig in Noord-Afrika en het Middellandse Zeegebied, met markten als Turkije, Algerije en Marokko. Deze aanwezigheid geeft Fiat een echt internationale dimensie die Citro\u00ebn en Opel niet hebben. Alles bij elkaar verkoopt Fiat in Europa, Latijns-Amerika en Noord-Afrika meer dan een miljoen auto's per jaar. Bovenal gelooft Stellantis dat het groeipotentieel enorm blijft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiat, de toekomstige groeimotor voor Stellantis?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

De Groep gelooft duidelijk sterk in de comeback van Fiat in Europa. CEO Olivier Fran\u00e7ois zei dit onlangs nog: Fiat wil de groeimotor worden voor Stellantis op de Europese markt<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deze ambitie is gebaseerd op een zeer duidelijke strategie: snel een breed, toegankelijk en agressief geprijsd gamma aanbieden. Met de nieuwe modellen die in de komende maanden worden verwacht, hoopt Stellantis Fiat in staat te stellen opnieuw aanzienlijke volumes in Europa te behalen, terwijl de reeds solide groei in Latijns-Amerika en Noord-Afrika wordt voortgezet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit heeft waarschijnlijk de balans doen doorslaan in het nadeel van Opel en Citro\u00ebn. Beide merken blijven sterk afhankelijk van de Europese markt. Ze kunnen natuurlijk nog steeds vooruitgang boeken, maar ze zullen onvermijdelijk stuiten op de grenzen van een volwassen, zeer competitieve en stagnerende Europese markt. Fiat daarentegen heeft nog steeds verschillende internationale groeimotoren die al operationeel zijn. En vooral, in tegenstelling tot sommige andere merken van de Groep, kan het snel groeien zonder kolossale investeringen om zichzelf opnieuw te lanceren op nieuwe continenten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
