En deze keer is het geen fabrikant die dat bewijst... maar een bestuurder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Een veelbelovende motor... nooit gebruikt in Europa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Toen deze 3.0L L6-motor begin jaren 2020 werd voorgesteld, belichaamde hij al een zekere moderniteit. In Europa zullen Alfa Romeo en Maserati er geen gebruik van maken. Een strategische keuze ingegeven door de elektrificatie, maar wel een die de smaak van onafgemaakte zaken achterlaat. Want op papier had deze 6-cilinder lijnmotor alles in zich om sommige bestaande V6's te vervangen of zelfs te overtreffen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Een voorbereiding... op een originele basis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dat is waar Morgan Evans om de hoek komt kijken, een Amerikaanse coureur die heeft besloten om deze motor tot ver over zijn oorspronkelijke grenzen te duwen. Haar speeltuin? De motor heeft alles van de fabriek behouden: gesmede krukas, drijfstangen, zuigers en timing zijn ongewijzigd gebleven. Een direct bewijs van de robuustheid van deze moderne aandrijflijn. De transformatie is vooral gebaseerd op een technische keuze: de oorspronkelijke twin-turbo wordt vervangen door \u00e9\u00e9n grote turbo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">800 pk... zonder de motor te openen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Door een Precision 68\/70 turbo te installeren en het elektronisch management te optimaliseren, heeft Morgan Evans ongeveer 800 pk bereikt. Dit vermogen werd bereikt met een boostdruk tussen 29 en 35 psi, terwijl de rest van de originele motor behouden bleef. Het werk richtte zich op kalibratie, met name via variabele nokkenastiming om de turboboost te verbeteren. Te formidabel, in feite. De bestuurder legt uit dat ze de prestaties vrijwillig moet beperken om te voldoen aan de veiligheidsnormen voor haar voertuig. Zonder dat is het potentieel duidelijk groter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nog een verrassing: de ZF 8HP75 automatische versnellingsbak is op geen enkele manier gewijzigd. Er is alleen een specifieke koppelomvormer toegevoegd om het startgedrag te verbeteren.
