Volgens Stellantis eist de leverancier herhaalde prijsverhogingen op reeds ondertekende contracten. Deze strategie werd onaanvaardbaar geacht door Stellantis, dat ZF ervan beschuldigde een radicale druktactiek te gebruiken: het opschorten van leveringen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Een fabriek is al gesloten in Mexico<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De gevolgen van dit conflict lieten niet lang op zich wachten. Sinds 14 maart ligt de Toluca-fabriek in Mexico vrijwel stil. Deze strategische locatie produceert de Jeep Compass en de toekomstige Cherokee, twee belangrijke modellen voor Stellantis op de Noord-Amerikaanse markt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De reden is simpel: zonder ophangingscomponenten is het onmogelijk om voertuigen te assembleren. En in een industrie die georganiseerd is op een just-in-time basis, waar voorraden tot een strikt minimum worden beperkt, brengt de kleinste onderbreking in de bevoorrading de productielijnen onmiddellijk tot stilstand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/stellantis-toluca-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-48137\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/stellantis-toluca-2.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/stellantis-toluca-2-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/stellantis-toluca-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/stellantis-toluca-2-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">26 miljoen al betaald... en een nieuwe fikse rekening<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wat deze zaak nog spectaculairder maakt, is de hoeveelheid geld die ermee gemoeid is. Om een aanvankelijke productiestop te voorkomen, had Stellantis er in december al mee ingestemd om flink in de buidel te tasten en de leverancier meer dan 26 miljoen dollar te betalen, bovenop de al aanzienlijke prijsverhogingen. Maar dit was niet genoeg. ZF Chassis Modules kwam terug met een nieuwe eis: meer dan 70 miljoen dollar meer, tussen directe betalingen en prijsverhogingen. Een financi\u00eble escalatie die Stellantis nu weigert te volgen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gerechtigheid dringend nodig<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Geconfronteerd met deze kritieke situatie heeft Stellantis besloten de zaak voor de rechter te brengen. Het doel is duidelijk: de leverancier dwingen de leveringen te hervatten om een totale blokkering van de productie in Noord-Amerika te voorkomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In de Verenigde Staten heeft een rechter al een tijdelijk verbod uitgevaardigd waardoor ZF verplicht is om de leveringen aan de Windsor-fabriek in Canada voort te zetten. De site, die ongeveer 5.500 mensen tewerkstelt en onder andere de Chrysler Pacifica en Dodge Charger produceert, kon zo een onmiddellijke sluiting vermijden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar deze beslissing blijft voorlopig: een nieuwe hoorzitting is gepland voor 6 april en de toekomst van de productie zal grotendeels afhangen van de uitkomst daarvan. In Mexico wordt een soortgelijke beslissing verwacht om de fabriek in Toluca snel weer op te starten, mogelijk eind maart of begin april.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Een toeleveringsketen onder maximale druk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit conflict benadrukt een bekende zwakte van de automobielsector: de extreme afhankelijkheid van leveranciers in een just-in-time model. Stellantis heeft slechts enkele uren voorraad van bepaalde kritieke onderdelen. De kleinste onderbreking wordt een groot risico. En als de blokkade langer duurt, kunnen de gevolgen veel groter zijn en niet alleen Stellantis treffen, maar de hele toeleveringsketen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bijzonder gevoelige timing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Deze crisis komt op het slechtst mogelijke moment voor Stellantis. De groep, geleid door Antonio Filosa, heeft in 2025 een bijzonder moeilijk jaar achter de rug, gekenmerkt door meer dan 22 miljard euro aan lasten, met name in verband met de aanpassing van zijn elektriciteitsstrategie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bovendien moet er in mei 2026 een nieuw industrieel plan worden gepresenteerd.
