Aan de ene kant stond Robert Peugeot, de belichaming van continu\u00efteit en de architect van de fusie tussen PSA en Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Aan de andere kant Xavier Peugeot, baas van DS Automobiles, met een meer offensieve lijn gericht op het herstellen van het industri\u00eble en strategische gewicht van de Franse divisie. Na enkele weken van interne discussies heeft de dynastie eindelijk een einde gemaakt aan de spanning: Robert Peugeot zal worden herbenoemd tot lid van de Raad van Bestuur van DS Automobiles. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/nl\/stellantis\/\">Stellantis<\/a> voor een laatste termijn van twee jaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Een familieduel dat een strategische kwestie is geworden<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Deze keuze, onderschreven door de verschillende familiebedrijven, is niet zomaar een vernieuwing van een mandaat. Ze markeert het einde van een stille maar echte tweestrijd tussen twee toekomstvisies. Op 75-jarige leeftijd zal Robert Peugeot deel blijven uitmaken van de Raad van Bestuur, waar hij de functie van vicevoorzitter zal blijven bekleden naast John Elkann, voorzitter van de Raad van Bestuur en vertegenwoordiger van de familie Agnelli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1174\" height=\"661\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/peugeot-stellantis.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44083\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/peugeot-stellantis.jpg 1174w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/peugeot-stellantis-420x236.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/peugeot-stellantis-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/peugeot-stellantis-18x10.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1174px) 100vw, 1174px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Tegenover hem stond Xavier Peugeot, 60 jaar, die hoopte een nieuwe fase in te luiden voor de Peugeots binnen 's werelds op drie na grootste autoconcern. Zijn plan was gebaseerd op een meer politieke interpretatie van Stellantis' bestuur, op een moment dat het zwaartepunt van de groep steeds meer lijkt te verschuiven in de richting van een Italiaans-Amerikaanse as, versterkt sinds de komst van Antonio Filosa als CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/xavier-peugeot.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44081\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/xavier-peugeot.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/xavier-peugeot-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/xavier-peugeot-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/xavier-peugeot-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Continu\u00efteit als leidraad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Met de keuze voor Robert Peugeot heeft de familie duidelijk gekozen voor stabiliteit. De patriarch kan bogen op een staat van dienst die door sommige leden van de clan als doorslaggevend wordt beschouwd: het succes van de fusie tussen PSA en FCA, verschillende jaren van hoge dividenden onder Carlos Tavares en een ogenschijnlijk soepel bestuur in een groep die zich heeft uitgebreid. Voor zijn aanhangers zou het riskant zijn geweest om dit evenwicht in twijfel te trekken in een context die al gekenmerkt werd door een moeilijk jaar voor Stellantis. Deze laatste termijn van twee jaar, die officieel zal worden bekrachtigd op de Algemene Vergadering van 2026, markeert niettemin een vorm van overgang. De Peugeot-familie heeft haar langetermijnverbintenis met Stellantis willen herhalen en tegelijkertijd de overgang naar kortere mandaten erkend als een teken van verhoogde waakzaamheid over het bestuur van de Groep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Franse invloed onder druk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Met bijna 8 % van het kapitaal blijven de Peugeots de tweede grootste aandeelhouder van Stellantis, ver achter Exor met zijn meer dan 15 %. Deze positie beperkt automatisch hun mogelijkheden om invloed uit te oefenen op de familie Agnelli, vooral omdat de status quo-overeenkomst die voortvloeit uit de fusie van 2021 een snelle kapitaalsverhoging v\u00f3\u00f3r 2028 verhindert. Het was precies op dit punt dat Xavier Peugeot en zijn broer Thierry hadden geprobeerd het debat te openen. Zij waren ervan overtuigd dat de familie de jaren van hoogconjunctuur had moeten aangrijpen om haar belang te vergroten en eventueel een tweede zetel in de Raad van Bestuur op te eisen. Deze optie is nu uitgesloten, aangezien Peugeot Invest nog steeds voorstander is van een diversificatiestrategie in plaats van een herori\u00ebntatie op de automobielsector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het aanblijven van Robert Peugeot is ook een duidelijke boodschap aan Antonio Filosa en het managementteam dat is gevormd uit het voormalige FCA. In dit stadium streeft de familie Peugeot er niet naar om de operationele leiding van de groep weer in handen te krijgen. Ze aanvaardt impliciet de nieuwe dynamiek die in Turijn en Detroit in gang is gezet en behoudt een evenwichtige rol in de Raad van Bestuur. Het valt nog te bezien hoe Robert Peugeot deze laatste twee jaar zal gebruiken. Wordt het een overgangsmandaat, gericht op het voorbereiden van een consensuele opvolging, of een periode waarin de familie zal proberen om discreet haar invloedstrategie te herdefini\u00ebren?
