En in datzelfde jaar experimenteerde een Zwitserse coureur al om Europa en de Verenigde Staten dichter bij elkaar te brengen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De coureur is Alain D\u00fcrr, een Zwitserse specialist in dragracen, een discipline die over het algemeen wordt geassocieerd met de Verenigde Staten, maar die ook in Europa wordt beoefend, met een door de FIA goedgekeurd kampioenschap. Maar zelfs op het oude continent wordt dragracen geassocieerd met Amerikaanse muscle cars. De structuur van de auto is aangepast, met verstevigingen en een grote opening op de motorkap die de grote supercharger naar buiten laat. Autodelta had twee competitiemodellen ontwikkeld, maar die zijn nooit gebouwd. Bovendien vond de Duitse importeur van de Biscione dat de markt veelbelovend was en gaf Delta AutoTechnik opdracht om achtcilinder GTV's te ontwikkelen. Het resultaat in 1977 was de GTV8 2.6i, die hetzelfde blok gebruikte als de Montreal. Maar Delta AutoTechnik ging failliet en er werden slechts 2-3 exemplaren gebouwd, in plaats van de geplande honderden.
