Dankzij de composiet carrosserie en het stalen frame woog de auto slechts 1.050 kg en haalde hij een topsnelheid van 205 km\/u. Hij was ontworpen om nieuwe technologie\u00ebn te testen, zoals de lucht-vloeistofwisselaar. De B24 werd aangedreven door een VM Motori I4 2,4-liter turbodieselmotor met een vermogen van 130 pk bij 4.300 tpm. De B24 werd in beperkte aantallen geproduceerd voor de Amerikaanse markt, met ongeveer negen exemplaren (inclusief enkele BT424-modellen uitgerust met Lancia Gamma-benzinemotoren). Hij was uitgerust met Brembo 4-zuiger remklauwen en 305-mm schijven op de vooras. De C36 wordt aangedreven door een centraal geplaatste VM 3.8 turbodiesel 6-cilinder lijnmotor met brandstofinjectie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/covini-c36-diesel.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39766\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/covini-c36-diesel.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/covini-c36-diesel-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/covini-c36-diesel-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/covini-c36-diesel-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Turbotronic verwees naar de technologie die in 1990 door VM Motori in Milaan was onthuld. Hun systeem maakte niet alleen gebruik van drukvulling, maar ook van elektronica om de verbranding te regelen. Het werd gebruikt op veel dieselmotoren van de FIAT Groep. De motor produceerde 313 pk bij 4.200 tpm, met een maximale stuwkracht van 500 Nm bij 2.100 tpm. De coup\u00e9 was de eerste dieselauto die de 300 km\/u grens doorbrak. Helaas bleef de C36 Turbotronic een prototype.
