Het was een kostbare technische fout die het imago van deze motor, die veel wordt gebruikt in Peugeot-, Citro\u00ebn-, Opel-, Jeep- en DS-modellen, voorgoed heeft aangetast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Een reputatie om opnieuw op te bouwen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sinds 2023 heeft Stellantis geprobeerd de bladzijde om te slaan met de introductie van de derde generatie van de 1.2L, de PureTech EB2 Gen3, <\/strong>eindelijk een veel betrouwbaardere kettingaandrijving, waarmee de tekortkomingen van de vorige generaties werden verholpen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/nl\/gidsen\/stellantis-1-2-puretech-motor-lijst-van-riemaangedreven-en-kettingaangedreven-modellen\/\">Deze motor is nu te vinden in een groot aantal voertuigen<\/a>waaronder hybride modellen zoals de Fiat 600, de Lancia Ypsilon, de<strong>Alfa Romeo Junior<\/strong>Peugeot, Citro\u00ebn, Opel en Jeep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ondanks deze verbeteringen bleef het imago van de PureTech echter te negatief om te kunnen worden gehandhaafd. Als gevolg <strong>Stellantis heeft de naam \"PureTech\" discreet uit de catalogi gehaald in september 2024,<\/strong> simpelweg vervangen door woorden als \"Hybrid\" of \"1.2 Hybrid Turbo\", afhankelijk van het merk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">T-Gen 3: een nieuwe identiteit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar deze naamloze overgang kon niet blijven duren. Na enkele maanden stilte, <strong>In mei 2025 verscheen er stilletjes een nieuwe naam in de Fiat-catalogus: T-Gen 3. <\/strong>De hybride motoren van het Italiaanse merk heten voortaan \"T-Gen 3 1.2 Hybrid Turbo\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"542\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/fiat-tgen3-1200x542.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-38611\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/fiat-tgen3-scaled.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/fiat-tgen3-420x190.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/fiat-tgen3-768x347.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/fiat-tgen3-18x8.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Deze naam is niet zomaar een marketingtruc. <strong>Het weerspiegelt een strategie van technische vernieuwing rond de EB2-motor van de 3e generatie,<\/strong> terwijl ze gebruikmaakten van een neutralere, zelfs krachtiger naam: 'T' voor 'Turbo', 'Gen3' om duidelijk de nieuwe generatie aan te geven. Een slimme manier om weer controle te krijgen over het verhaal van deze motor en hem los te koppelen van eerdere generaties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voorlopig verschijnt deze nieuwe naam alleen in offici\u00eble Fiat-communicatie. Voor zover <strong>Lancia<\/strong>Bij Peugeot, Citro\u00ebn, Opel en Jeep wordt de term 'Hybrid' nog steeds gebruikt, simpelweg '1.2 Hybrid Turbo'. De motor drijft al een groot aantal modellen met verbranding en lichte hybride aan, waaronder eDCT voertuigen met dubbele koppeling.
