Volgens Bloomberg, Stellantis<\/a> staat op het punt om een nieuwe CEO te benoemen en Antonio Filosa, momenteel hoofd van de Noord-Amerikaanse activiteiten, is naar voren gekomen als de belangrijkste kandidaat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Een langverwachte opvolging<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Het ontslag van Carlos Tavares, in december 2024<\/a>Hierdoor zat Stellantis zonder duidelijke richting, een leegte aan het hoofd van de autogigant die pas na enkele maanden werd opgevuld. Aanvankelijk had de raad van bestuur van Stellantis een snelle benoeming beloofd, maar het uitblijven van een definitieve beslissing wekte bezorgdheid. De beraadslagingen duurden langer dan verwacht vanwege de complexiteit van de kwesties en de moeilijke financi\u00eble situatie van de groep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Na vijf maanden van speculatie en concurrerende biedingen, Antonio Filosa, die in 1999 bij Fiat in dienst trad en sinds de fusie met PSA in 2021 integraal deel uitmaakt van Stellantis, lijkt nu in pole position om Tavares op te volgen. <\/strong>Filosa, een 50-jarige Italiaan, heeft een sleutelrol gespeeld in de expansie van de groep, vooral in Latijns-Amerika en meer recent in Noord-Amerika, waar hij de leiding nam over Jeep en toezag op de ommekeer in de verkoop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hij beklom de ladder van Napels naar de Verenigde Staten<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Filosa is geen onbekende in het vak. Hij werd geboren in Napels en doorliep al snel de rangen bij Fiat, voordat hij aan het roer kwam te staan van verschillende Stellantis-merken. Deze indrukwekkende carri\u00e8re heeft hem een diepgaande kennis opgeleverd van de Europese en Amerikaanse markten. Zijn benoeming tot directeur van Stellantis in Noord-Amerika in oktober 2024 betekende een beslissend keerpunt in zijn carri\u00e8re, midden in een turbulente periode voor de groep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zijn pragmatische aanpak, zijn vermogen om crises te beheersen en zijn natuurlijke charisma hebben van hem een zeer gerespecteerd leider binnen de groep gemaakt. \"Daar is hij een ster\", zegt een van zijn collega's, die zijn centrale rol bij de herlancering van het merk Jeep in Noord-Amerika benadrukt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Een grote uitdaging voor de toekomstige CEO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hoewel Filosa's benoeming nu bijna een uitgemaakte zaak lijkt, staat hij voor een aantal uitdagingen. De belangrijkste is het ombuigen van de prestaties van de Groep, vooral in Amerika, waar de verkoop alarmerend is gedaald. In 2024 zag Stellantis zijn verkoop in de VS met 15 % dalen, een trend die zich in 2025 waarschijnlijk zal voortzetten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maar dat is niet alles. In Europa heeft Stellantis ook te kampen met overtollige productiecapaciteit (in de fabrieken van Termoli en Melfi in Itali\u00eb worden momenteel vrijwillige ontslagcampagnes gevoerd) en toenemende druk van Chinese fabrikanten, zoals BYD, die hun stempel drukken met concurrerende voertuigen. Wat de Italiaanse merken betreft, verwachten we ook dat Filosa zichtbaarheid zal geven aan het merk Maserati, dat in de ijskast lijkt te zijn gezet sinds het ontslag van Carlos Tavares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aankondiging kan binnenkort komen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hoewel de raad van bestuur van Stellantis, voorgezeten door John Elkann, naar verluidt heeft verklaard dat er nog geen offici\u00eble aankondiging is gedaan, lijkt de benoeming van Filosa aanstaande. Sinds 9 mei is de aandelenkoers van Stellantis gestegen als reactie op deze geruchten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
