Tot verbazing van getuigen bleek het te gaan om niets minder dan de nieuwe Lancia Gamma, het toekomstige vlaggenschip van de fabrikant. Een langverwachte lancering met als resultaat, <em>neemt water op<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het was dinsdag rond 7 uur 's ochtends toen een lokale visser het dak van een auto uit het oppervlak van het Viverone-meer zag steken. De hulpdiensten werden onmiddellijk gewaarschuwd. Brandweerlieden en duikers werden opgeroepen om het ondergedompelde voertuig veilig te stellen en uit het water te takelen. Volgens de eerste bevindingen waren er geen slachtoffers. Het voertuig was leeg toen de reddingswerkers arriveerden en er werd geen spoor van de bestuurder gevonden op de rivieroever. De omstandigheden waardoor dit geheime prototype in de wateren van Piemonte terechtkwam, blijven een mysterie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Een sleepwagen met kraan haalde de auto uit het water voor de ogen van een handvol verbaasde toeschouwers. \"Ik twijfel er niet aan dat het de Gamma is,\" zei een fotograaf ter plaatse. \"Ik herkende het logo en het silhouet meteen: het is Lancia's nieuwe SUV. Vanuit visueel oogpunt zijn er een aantal elementen die de identiteit verraden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ondanks de modder en het water vertoont de hoge sedan duidelijk Lancia's karakteristieke kenmerken.<\/strong> Op de achtersteven is het Lancia-logo prominent aanwezig. De achterlichten zijn verbonden door een zwarte band op de achterklep, waarop de naam LANCIA in volle letters staat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alles wijst naar de Lancia Gamma,<\/strong> door de autofabrikant aangekondigd als zijn nieuwe vlaggenschip, dat in 2026 wordt verwacht. De 4,6 meter lange SUV is gebaseerd op het modulaire STLA Medium-platform van Stellantis, dat naar verwachting zal worden gedeeld met andere topmodellen van de groep.  Een ander veelzeggend detail is dat er geen uitlaatpijpen zichtbaar zijn aan de achterkant van het voertuig. Dit bevestigt dat we te maken hebben met de 100 % elektrische versie van de Gamma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hoe zo'n geheim voertuig in een meer terecht is gekomen, valt nog te bezien. <\/strong>De lokale autoriteiten sluiten op dit moment geen enkele mogelijkheid uit. De mogelijkheid van een overval is geopperd. Vergeet niet dat in een eerder incident aan het einde van 2023, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/nl\/lancia\/de-eerste-fotos-van-de-nieuwe-lancia-ypsilon-zijn-uitgelekt\/\">een Lancia Ypsilon prototype werd gestolen en teruggevonden in een kanaal in Frankrijk<\/a> in soortgelijke omstandigheden. In dit geval zou de nabijheid van het Viverone-meer bij een testlocatie van Stellantis geloofwaardig kunnen zijn voor de theorie van een ongeluk tijdens een vertrouwelijke test of een mislukte manoeuvre tijdens nachtelijk transport.
