Stellantis lijkt klaar om de productie van de legendarische V8-motor te hervatten, maar deze beslissing zou alleen betrekking hebben op de Noord-Amerikaanse markt en een paar specifieke modellen.<\/strong> De aankondiging komt op een moment dat de autofabrikant, na het vertrek van ex-CEO Carlos Tavares, een aanzienlijke reorganisatie ondergaat, waarbij de strategie\u00ebn per regio verschillen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De ster van deze potenti\u00eble comeback zou de 5.7L HEMI V8 zijn,<\/strong> een iconische Stellantis motor. Volgens informatie van verschillende bronnen, waaronder de website MoparInsider<\/em>de productie van de motor zou kunnen worden hervat in de fabriek in Dundee, Michigan. Deze locatie, van oudsher gewijd aan de productie van V6 Pentastar motoren, maakt zich nu op om nieuwe productie te verwelkomen ter ondersteuning van de toekomst van verbrandingsmotoren, waaronder de 1.6L 4-cilinder EP6 (als je nog twijfels had) en misschien de terugkeer van de V8 (die niet voorkomt in onderstaand document).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De 5.7L HEMI V8 zou daarom een comeback kunnen maken in de Ram 1500, <\/strong>zoals gemeld door MoparInsider. Andere bronnen, waaronder de website The Drive, vermelden echter ook de mogelijkheid van zijn terugkeer naar Dodge. Deze terugkeer zou symbolisch zijn en de heropleving van de productie van V8-motoren in de Verenigde Staten na meer dan 16 jaar markeren. Als dit wordt bevestigd, zou de Dundee Engine Plant een strategische locatie zijn, dicht bij de productiefabrieken van de Ram 1500 en Dodge Durango.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maar wat betekent deze terugkeer voor Stellantis? Ten eerste blijft het merk zich richten op groenere, modernere motoren, zoals de GME 4-cilinder hybride en de GME 6-cilinder, evenals elektromotoren. Dit laat zien dat Stellantis kiest voor een regionaal gedifferentieerde aanpak. In Europa lijkt een terugkeer van de V8 bijvoorbeeld hoogst onwaarschijnlijk. 6-cilinder motoren zouden al een grote stap zijn voor de Europese markt, waar elektrificatie de prioriteit blijft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maar deze terugkeer naar de V8 kan ook duiden op een strategie om liefhebbers van prestaties in Noord-Amerika aan te spreken, waar krachtigere motoren nog steeds populair zijn.
