Sinds de lancering in 2020 was de nieuwe generatie van de elektrische 500, gebaseerd op het STLA City-platform van Stellantis, aanvankelijk een groot succes, ondersteund door aankooppremies in Frankrijk en Duitsland. Toen deze incentives verdwenen, daalde de verkoop echter aanzienlijk. Volgens onze cijfers daalde het aantal registraties van de 500 van 65.000 in 2023 naar slechts 30.000 in 2024, een daling die vooral te wijten is aan de prijs, die door veel consumenten te hoog wordt geacht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Om deze daling in de verkoop tegen te gaan, Fiat<\/a> heeft besloten om in het voorjaar van 2024 zijn vlaggenschip opnieuw te lanceren met een hybride verbrandingsversie. Fiat ziet echter niet af van de elektrische versie 100 %, die volgens Fiat het meest geschikt is voor het model. Dat is het inderdaad, Bijna een jaar geleden kondigde Stellantis een investering van \u20ac100 miljoen aan.<\/a> om de elektrische auto 500 te verbeteren, met als doel de actieradius te vergroten en hem concurrerender te maken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tot nu toe is er heel weinig offici\u00eble informatie over deze verbetering, afgezien van wat speculaties over een nieuwe batterij. Er werd ook algemeen verwacht dat de nieuwe versie van de elektrische 500 in november 2025 op de markt zou komen, tegelijk met de hybride versie. Maar er kwam een onverwachte onthulling uit ons interview met Guillaume Clerc, Hoofd Product bij Fiat en Abarth.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In dit interview hebben we exclusieve informatie kunnen krijgen over de nieuwe elektrische Fiat 500. Hoewel dit project bewust vaag en moeilijk te bespreken blijft voor Fiat, zijn er toch enkele details naar boven gekomen. De belangrijkste investering is in een nieuwe batterij, die zal worden geproduceerd door de nieuwe joint venture Stellantis\/CATL<\/a> in de nieuwe Spaanse fabriek.<\/strong> Deze batterij zal van het type LFP (Lithium IJzer Fosfaat) zijn. Ter herinnering, de huidige batterij is afkomstig van Samsung SDI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In december 2024 kondigde Stellantis de oprichting aan van een nieuwe joint venture met CATL<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Wat echter intrigerender is, is de productiedatum voor deze batterij. In een persbericht werd aangekondigd dat de Spaanse fabriek Stellantis\/CATL, die ook voor Opel en Peugeot gaat produceren, zal pas eind 2026 beginnen met de productie van deze nieuwe batterijen.<\/strong> Hoewel Guillaume Clerc geen exacte releasedatum wilde geven voor de nieuwe elektrische Fiat 500, hij bevestigde dat deze versie niet tegelijk met de hybride versie zal verschijnen,<\/strong> in tegenstelling tot wat eerder werd gespeculeerd in tal van media (waaronder italpassion). Fiat heeft nooit iets gezegd over een gelijktijdige lancering. Hoewel de heer Clerc geen precieze datum wilde noemen, zal deze elektrische versie logischerwijs niet voor eind 2026, of zelfs begin 2027 op de markt komen. Deze informatie is in lijn met het Fiat-productplan dat we een jaar geleden onthulden<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De heer Clerc heeft bevestigd dat de nieuwe 500 hybride bedoeld is om de productie in de Mirafiori fabriek weer op gang te brengen en tegelijkertijd de kosten van de ontwikkeling van de nieuwe elektrische 500 terug te verdienen. Als je hebt gewacht op een meer betaalbare elektrische Fiat 500 met verbeterde actieradius voor eind 2025, zul je nog even geduld moeten hebben.
