Het is een onderwerp dat veel aandacht heeft gekregen op internet en sociale netwerken. Sinds 2023, met de introductie van de derde generatie van deze motor, is er een grote verandering doorgevoerd: de traditionele riem is vervangen door een kettingtiming. Deze technische verandering is bedoeld om de effici\u00ebntie en betrouwbaarheid van de PureTech-motor te verbeteren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Problemen met de oliegevulde riem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De eerste versies van de 1.2 PureTech-motor van Stellantis (gen 1 en gen 2) maakten gebruik van een distributieriem ondergedompeld in motorolie. Hoewel deze configuratie destijds innovatief leek, bleken er al snel enkele grote tekortkomingen te zijn. De riem had de neiging sneller te verslijten dan verwacht, waardoor deeltjes vrijkwamen die het smeersysteem van de motor konden verstoppen. Deze verstoppingen konden leiden tot vermogensverlies, storingen en, in de ernstigste gevallen, defecten die duur waren om te repareren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Geconfronteerd met deze problemen moest Stellantis ingrijpen, met terugroepacties voor bijna 500.000 voertuigen, voornamelijk Peugeot-, Citro\u00ebn-, DS-, Opel- en Jeep-modellen. De ketting is beter geschikt voor moderne rijomstandigheden, met name op korte ritten in de stad, waar de motoren bijzonder hard moeten werken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het doel van deze technische ontwikkeling is om de behoefte aan interventie in de werkplaats te verminderen, de levensduur van de motor te verlengen en het onderhoud te vereenvoudigen. Bovendien hoeven kettingaangedreven motoren minder vaak vervangen te worden dan riemaangedreven motoren, waardoor ze op lange termijn betrouwbaarder zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De modellen waarop deze wijziging betrekking heeft<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Veel modellen van de Stellantis Groep zijn al uitgerust met deze nieuwe versie van de 1.2 PureTech-kettingmotor, die beschikbaar is in hybride en niet-hybride versies, met zowel handgeschakelde als eDCT automatische transmissies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hier is een motor en verlaagt het de reparatie- en onderhoudskosten voor eigenaars. Opgemerkt moet worden dat in Europa alle nieuwe Stellantis-modellen met verbrandingsmotor de 3e generatie 1.2L gebruiken, ook al is de Puretech-naam uit alle communicatie verdwenen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aan de Italiaanse kant hebben een Fiat Grande Panda, Alfa Romeo Junior of Lancia Ypsilon deze 3de generatie 1.2L motor. Hoewel hij niet langer Puretech heet, is dit een motor die een lange carri\u00e8re tegemoet gaat, aangezien veel nieuwe auto's in Europa hem zullen gebruiken.
