La vettura fu presentata all'Esposizione Universale di Montreal del 1967, da cui il nome, e aveva lo scopo di reintrodurre un modello di prestigio nella gamma del Biscione. Giuseppe Busso ha spiegato che, per motivi di budget, il telaio specifico inizialmente previsto fu abbandonato e l'Alfa Romeo ripieg\u00f2 sul telaio dell'esistente coup\u00e9 Bertone GTV 2000. Ma la direzione decise che un V8 era pi\u00f9 prestigioso. Il motore doveva essere inserito nel telaio della GTV coup\u00e9, il che significava alzare l'intera linea di cintura e integrare i finestrini laterali molto curvi. Il passo corto della GTV si traduceva in una Montreal coup\u00e9 pi\u00f9 alta e con sbalzi maggiori del previsto che, per i puristi insoddisfatti, alteravano il bilanciamento dei pesi e la fluidit\u00e0 aerodinamica della vettura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"732\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-oroginal.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-oroginal.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-oroginal-420x256.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-oroginal-768x468.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-oroginal-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Il motore era un V8 a 90\u00b0 con quattro alberi a camme in testa e 200 CV, derivato dal V8 da 2 litri dell'Alfa 33 da corsa, rialesato per aumentarne la cilindrata a 2.593 cm3 con iniezione meccanica Spica (che caus\u00f2 non pochi problemi!), il tutto accoppiato a un cambio manuale ZF a 5 rapporti. Il telaio si basava su un progetto obsoleto, la distribuzione dei pesi, nettamente orientata verso l'anteriore a causa del grosso V8, la rendeva sottosterzante e poco agile, mentre l'impianto frenante si rivelava un po' leggero. Tra questi c'\u00e8 OKTech, di cui abbiamo parlato recentemente. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/it\/alfa-romeo\/questa-alfa-romeo-75-e-alimentata-da-un-v6-busso-da-500-cv-a-9000-giri-min-il-piu-potente-al-mondo\/\">l'Alfa Romeo 75 Busso e Bialbero sovralimentata<\/a>. Il suo nome? Montreal \"Flatplane\"? Cosa significa? Il nome si riferisce alle modifiche sostanziali apportate al motore, che \u00e8 sempre un V8, ma questa volta la sua cilindrata \u00e8 stata aumentata a 3,3 litri. Questa configurazione, ampiamente utilizzata nelle vetture stradali V8, aveva il vantaggio di produrre un motore pi\u00f9 fluido e pi\u00f9 utilizzabile su base giornaliera rispetto a un V8 con albero a gomiti piatto, una soluzione tecnica utilizzata nel V8 della 33. Il cerchio si chiude con questo 3,3 litri a piatto, che d\u00e0 alla Montreal un motore con un'anima da corsa! Le ultime cifre pubblicate da OKtech sul suo sito di social network indicano una potenza di 350 CV e una velocit\u00e0 massima di 9000 giri\/min.
