Ma anche nel Vecchio Continente le gare di accelerazione sono associate alle muscle car americane. La struttura dell'auto \u00e8 stata modificata, con rinforzi e una grande apertura sul cofano che lascia uscire il grande compressore. Autodelta aveva sviluppato due modelli da competizione, che per\u00f2 non furono mai costruiti. Inoltre, l'importatore tedesco del Biscione riteneva che il mercato fosse promettente e commission\u00f2 alla Delta AutoTechnik lo sviluppo di GTV a otto cilindri. Il risultato, nel 1977, fu la GTV8 2.6i, che utilizzava lo stesso blocco della Montreal. Ma la Delta AutoTechnik fall\u00ec e ne furono costruiti solo 2-3 esemplari, invece delle centinaia previste.
