Gracias a una normativa permisiva que daba rienda suelta a los ingenieros, las berlinas carrozadas del DTM empezaron a parecer prototipos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alfa Romeo dio la sorpresa con el 155 V6 4\u00d74, sorprendiendo a Mercedes y ganando los t\u00edtulos de pilotos y constructores. Con su diferencial, caja de cambios de 6 velocidades, ABS, v\u00e1lvulas de titanio, electr\u00f3nica y tracci\u00f3n a las 4 ruedas, era un avi\u00f3n de combate, propulsado por un V6 de 2,5 litros a 60\u00b0 derivado del Busso y que desarrollaba 430 CV. En 1994, Mercedes cambi\u00f3 el 190E por el C-Klasse V6, y la estrella volvi\u00f3 a estar en el candelero cuando Klaus Ludwig gan\u00f3 el t\u00edtulo, pero Alfa Romeo segu\u00eda haci\u00e9ndolo muy bien con numerosas victorias. En 1995, el DTM se internacionaliz\u00f3 y se convirti\u00f3 en el ITC. Fue el apogeo de este enorme campeonato, con carreras por toda Europa, as\u00ed como en Jap\u00f3n y Brasil. En la pista, las estrellas del DTM (Schneider, Ludwig, Thiim) se codeaban con veteranos de la F1 (Modena, Tarquini, Lehto, Nannini) y j\u00f3venes promesas (Jan Magnussen, Fisichella, etc.). Los coches eran aut\u00e9nticos prototipos disfrazados, y los costes se dispararon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un nuevo V6 para 1996, \u00a1en parte franc\u00e9s!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Para contrarrestar al C-Klasse V6 y al Opel Calibra 4\u00d74, Alfa Romeo actualiza su monstruo con un nuevo V6 a 90\u00b0, un \u00e1ngulo considerado m\u00e1s eficiente por los ingenieros de motores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/v6-prv.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/v6-prv.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/v6-prv-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/v6-prv-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/v6-prv-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">V6 GRP 90<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>El problema es que el reglamento exige que el motor sea de serie. Bueno, \u201cde serie\u201d son palabras mayores: los cilindros tienen que tener el mismo \u00e1ngulo y la misma distancia entre ejes. El resto depende de ti. El \u00fanico motor de 90\u00b0 producido en cantidad por Alfa Romeo fue el del... \u00a1el Montreal!  El V8 del Montreal se homolog\u00f3 en versi\u00f3n V6, pero s\u00f3lo para servir de \u00abpantalla\u00bb y salvar honores, porque Alfa Romeo opt\u00f3 en realidad por un motor modificado basado en el V6 del Lancia Thema (coche que compart\u00eda base con el Alfa Romeo 164). Y este V6 no era otro que el famoso... \u00a1V6 PRV!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Juego de manos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfC\u00f3mo acab\u00f3 este motor, desarrollado por Peugeot, Renault y Volvo, en un Lancia? Cuando sali\u00f3 el Thema en 1984, un V6 parec\u00eda esencial para apoyar el posicionamiento de estatus de la elegante berlina italiana. En aquel momento, sin embargo, Fiat no ten\u00eda ning\u00fan V6 en su banco de \u00f3rganos y Alfa Romeo a\u00fan no hab\u00eda sido absorbida por el grupo, lo que hac\u00eda inaccesible el Busso V6. Compacto, ligero, flexible y con par a bajas revoluciones, el PRV es una elecci\u00f3n sensata. Pues bien, el truco era el siguiente: Alfa Romeo hab\u00eda sido comprada en 1986 por FIAT, que hab\u00eda fusionado las dos marcas bajo el paraguas Alfa-Lancia Industriale. Adem\u00e1s, el Thema se ensamblaba en Arese, el coraz\u00f3n hist\u00f3rico del Biscione. Esto significaba que un motor V6 del Thema pod\u00eda considerarse \u201cde la casa\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eso no fue suficiente.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan el director del proyecto, Sergio Limone, Alfa Romeo mantuvo un perfil bajo en este truco. Por razones obvias de marketing, habr\u00eda sido poco glamuroso admitir los or\u00edgenes extranjeros del motor V6 Ti. La potencia se elev\u00f3 a 490 CV, pero no fue suficiente para batir a los modelos alemanes m\u00e1s afilados, por lo que se detuvo el desarrollo del 155. Sergio Limone tambi\u00e9n revel\u00f3 que Mercedes hab\u00eda sido m\u00e1s inteligente a la hora de interpretar las \u00ablagunas\u00bb del reglamento en su beneficio, y que la traducci\u00f3n inglesa del reglamento utilizada por los ingenieros de Alfa Corse no era exactamente la misma que la original alemana...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/156-dtm-v6-90.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/156-dtm-v6-90.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/156-dtm-v6-90-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/156-dtm-v6-90-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/156-dtm-v6-90-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>El 155 V6 de 1996 tambi\u00e9n presentaba algunos ingeniosos avances aerodin\u00e1micos, como un carenado en las puertas delanteras que se fusionaba con los espejos retrovisores, creando un v\u00f3rtice que reduc\u00eda las perturbaciones aerodin\u00e1micas hacia el aler\u00f3n trasero. Incre\u00edble) El DTM lleg\u00f3 a su fin al final de la temporada, debido a la espiral de costes y a la insuficiente cobertura medi\u00e1tica.
