Audi y su sistema Quattro redefinieron los est\u00e1ndares de los coches de rally, seguidos por Lancia, Peugeot y Ford. Una carrera por la potencia que atrajo a muchos fabricantes, entre ellos Porsche, que se lo pens\u00f3: la firma de Stuttgart desarroll\u00f3 un 911 SC\/RS que gan\u00f3 el t\u00edtulo europeo en 1984, al tiempo que preparaba el terreno para el 959, presentado en el Sal\u00f3n de Frankfurt de 1983 con el nombre de \u201c911 Gruppe B\u201d. \u00bfY por qu\u00e9 no Ferrari?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Los comienzos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los coches de Maranello lo han intentado y a menudo han tenido \u00e9xito en sus escapadas de rally. A petici\u00f3n de varios clientes privados italianos y franceses, entre ellos el importador franc\u00e9s Charles Pozzi, Michelotto desarroll\u00f3 en 1978 un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/es\/coches\/ferrari-308\/\">Ferrari 308<\/a> Groupe 4, que gan\u00f3 el Campeonato de Espa\u00f1a de Rallyes y era uno de los favoritos en el Tour de Francia auto y el Campeonato de Francia de Rallyes con Jean-Claude Andruet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/308-groupe-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47302\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/308-groupe-4.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/308-groupe-4-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/308-groupe-4-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/308-groupe-4-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Ferarri 308 GTB Grupo 4 \u00abMichelotto\u00bb<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Impresionada por los resultados de estos coches privados, Ferrari se asoci\u00f3 con Michelotto para construir un coche de Grupo B m\u00e1s extremo, el 308 GT\/M, con carrocer\u00eda de composite, hacia finales de 1982. El primer coche no estuvo listo hasta la primavera de 1984, pero Ferrari perdi\u00f3 el inter\u00e9s porque no pod\u00eda competir con las m\u00e1quinas turboalimentadas y de tracci\u00f3n a las cuatro ruedas que dominaban los rallyes del Grupo B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GTO, el retorno<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Excepto que en 1984, Ferrari present\u00f3 su nuevo supercoche, el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/es\/coches\/ferrari-288-gto\/\">288 GTO<\/a>, que resucita el famoso GTO para \u00abGran Turismo Omologato\u00bb. Fue el primer Ferrari de ocho cilindros de producci\u00f3n cuyo V8 estaba montado longitudinalmente en el chasis, una configuraci\u00f3n m\u00e1s adecuada para las carreras. El 288 GTO se dise\u00f1\u00f3 para cumplir la normativa del Grupo B, de modo que pudiera rendir bien tanto en circuito como en carretera. La normativa del Grupo B resultaba atractiva para Ferrari, que pod\u00eda as\u00ed presentar un coche potente utilizando la turboalimentaci\u00f3n, una tecnolog\u00eda que ya domina a la perfecci\u00f3n gracias a su experiencia en la F1.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/288-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-46403\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/288-1.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/288-1-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/288-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/288-1-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Ferrari 288 GTO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>La homologaci\u00f3n exige la fabricaci\u00f3n de un m\u00ednimo de 200 modelos de carretera al a\u00f1o. Este 288, dise\u00f1ado por Pininfarina, era un aut\u00e9ntico coche de carreras disfrazado de \u00abstradale\u00bb, con un chasis tubular cubierto por una carrocer\u00eda de fibra de vidrio, kevlar y carbono, m\u00e1s ligero, v\u00edas m\u00e1s anchas y, sobre todo, un fabuloso V8 de 2,8 litros propulsado por dos turbos IHI de 400 CV. Una primicia para un Ferrari V8 de producci\u00f3n. Producido inicialmente en 200 unidades, el 288 GTO fue un gran \u00e9xito, lo que llev\u00f3 a Ferrari a ampliar la producci\u00f3n en 72 unidades m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00a1Radical!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ferrari estaba trabajando en una versi\u00f3n de carreras, de 1985, llamada \u00abEvoluzione\u00bb. Tres equipos se repartieron el trabajo sobre la aerodin\u00e1mica, el chasis y el motor. Aligerado a 940 kilos gracias al uso de fibra de vidrio, Kevlar y carbono, el GTO Evo no hizo concesiones en cuanto a prestaciones. El motor del GTO Evoluzione est\u00e1 disponible en dos versiones, CK para circuito y CR para rallyes. La versi\u00f3n CK tiene 650 CV y un 0-100 km\/h de 4 segundos y un 0-200 km\/h de 6 segundos, \u00a1con una velocidad m\u00e1xima de 369 km\/h! Te dejamos que te lo imagines por las carreteras de C\u00f3rcega...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un destino en el camino<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Inicialmente se iban a fabricar 20 modelos de competici\u00f3n. Ya se hab\u00edan fabricado 5 cuando, a ra\u00edz de una serie de accidentes durante la temporada de 1986, especialmente el accidente mortal de Toivonen en el Tour de C\u00f3rcega, la FIA legisl\u00f3 y prohibi\u00f3 la categor\u00eda Grupo B. Se modific\u00f3 el coeficiente de conversi\u00f3n de la cilindrada, lo que significaba que el V8 de Ferrari ya no estaba dentro de los l\u00edmites. El 288 GTO Evoluzione nunca compiti\u00f3 en un rally. Una vez finalizado el trabajo de desarrollo, Ferrari vendi\u00f3 varios de los prototipos 288 GTO Evoluzione a sus clientes m\u00e1s importantes, entre ellos Jacques Swaters, Pierre Bardinon y el Sult\u00e1n de Brunei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, como habr\u00e1s podido comprobar, este Ferrari recuerda a un superdeportivo lanzado al a\u00f1o siguiente. Ferrari no se detiene ah\u00ed con el GTO Evoluzione que tiene entre manos: a falta de limar las asperezas del WRC, este GTO Evo podr\u00eda dar lugar a un deportivo extremo para la carretera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este ser\u00e1 el famoso <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/es\/coches\/ferrari-f40\/\">F40<\/a>, el ic\u00f3nico supercoche, el \u00faltimo que se fabric\u00f3 en vida de Enzo Ferrari, y la evoluci\u00f3n natural del bestial 288 GTO Evoluzione, algunos de cuyos ejemplares se utilizaron como prototipos de pruebas.
