El Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (DRM), predecesor del DTM, utiliz\u00f3 este reglamento de 1977 a 1981, hasta que la categor\u00eda se aboli\u00f3 a finales de 1982 en favor del Grupo B, pero los Gr.5 siguieron compitiendo en el IMSA GTX y otros campeonatos nacionales de coches deportivos durante algunos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La normativa limitaba la anchura est\u00e1ndar de la carrocer\u00eda, pero permit\u00eda alerones m\u00e1s anchos. S\u00f3lo deb\u00edan permanecer inalterados el cap\u00f3, el techo, las puertas y el fald\u00f3n. Todo lo dem\u00e1s se dejaba a discreci\u00f3n del ingeniero. En resumen, los fabricantes ten\u00edan total libertad para jugar con la aerodin\u00e1mica, utilizar materiales ultraligeros o instalar enormes turbocompresores. Un excelente ejemplo fue el monstruoso Ford Capri Zakspeed, cuya versi\u00f3n biturbo de 1,7 litros, alimentada por un turbo KKK, pod\u00eda desarrollar 600 CV. Para un coche que pesaba menos de 800 kg, semejante potencia le proporcionaba unas prestaciones excepcionales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un proyecto alem\u00e1n<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Muchos fabricantes lo intentaron, con distintos grados de apoyo por parte de las f\u00e1bricas: Lancia con el Stratos y luego el Beta Monte Carlo, BMW con el 320 Turbo, Porsche con el 935, Lotus con el Esprit e incluso Toyota con el Celica. Y todos ellos, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/es\/alfa-romeo\/\">Alfa Romeo<\/a> tambi\u00e9n hizo algunas apariciones. Se desarroll\u00f3 una versi\u00f3n Grp.5 del Alfetta GTV para el DRM, en el que compiti\u00f3 entre 1979 y 1981. El proyecto fue una colaboraci\u00f3n entre Isert Motorsport (que construy\u00f3 el coche), Sachs Racing (suspensi\u00f3n) y el Dr. Schrick, que contribuy\u00f3 al dise\u00f1o del motor. Con su cilindrada, el coche era apto para la Divisi\u00f3n 2 del Grupo 5. La primera versi\u00f3n de pruebas ten\u00eda transmisi\u00f3n por cadena y se convirti\u00f3 a transmisi\u00f3n por correa en 1981. Este coche fue tambi\u00e9n el \u00fanico DRM que experiment\u00f3 con la inyecci\u00f3n electr\u00f3nica de combustible, antes de equiparse finalmente con la inyecci\u00f3n mec\u00e1nica Kugelfischer. Este GTV Gr5 es un aut\u00e9ntico patchwork de Alfa, con frenos traseros Rallye Alfetta Gr.4 y pinzas tomadas del Tipo 33.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un aspecto extra\u00f1o, \u00a1m\u00e1s a\u00fan en 1981!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Todos los paneles exteriores de la carrocer\u00eda son de pl\u00e1stico, a excepci\u00f3n del techo. Adem\u00e1s de las v\u00edas m\u00e1s anchas, el frontal presenta un enorme aler\u00f3n, que se parece mucho al del Grupo B Quattro S2 lanzado unos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde. Al mismo tiempo, la librea blanca (que, seg\u00fan algunas fotos, tambi\u00e9n era predominantemente amarilla) \u00a1cambi\u00f3 a roja! Fabricado en 1981, este kit ten\u00eda un morro hundido y unos faros bastante similares a los de la bomba alemana. El resultado era muy discutible, \u00a1adem\u00e1s de quitarle su identidad caracter\u00edstica! S\u00f3lo un peque\u00f1o Scudetto recordaba que se trataba de un Alfa Romeo en esta extra\u00f1a versi\u00f3n.<br>\u00a0<br>Al no haber conseguido resultados significativos (ni terminar una sola carrera, debido a una mec\u00e1nica debilitada por los 400 CV y el turbo), el coche fue retirado a principios de 1982, tras la desaparici\u00f3n del DRM. Permaneci\u00f3 fuera de servicio durante mucho tiempo, en su estado original, antes de ser restaurado en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os tras varios cambios de propietario.
