La marca del escorpi\u00f3n, anta\u00f1o s\u00edmbolo de deportividad accesible y de una comunidad fiel, atraviesa desde hace dos a\u00f1os una crisis sin precedentes. Y las \u00faltimas declaraciones de su jefe europeo, Gaetano Thorel, sugieren un giro inesperado: un posible regreso a los motores de combusti\u00f3n. Lo documentamos <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/es\/abarth\/la-estrategia-100-electricos-de-dabarth-es-un-fracaso-las-cifras-lo-demuestran\/\">a partir de julio<\/a> entonces en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/es\/abarth\/desaparecera-en-silencio-la-marca-abarth\/\">Octubre de 2025<\/a> se han desplomado. Mientras que todav\u00eda se esperaba que la marca vendiera casi 10.000 coches en 2024, est\u00e1 luchando por superar la barrera de las 2.000 unidades en 2025. En Europa, s\u00f3lo se matricularon 1.030 Abarth entre enero y junio, frente a los 4.867 de un a\u00f1o antes. Una ca\u00edda de casi 80 %.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Y este declive no ha perdonado a ning\u00fan mercado: Francia, Italia, Reino Unido, Espa\u00f1a e incluso Jap\u00f3n est\u00e1n viendo caer sus vol\u00famenes. La situaci\u00f3n se agrava a\u00fan m\u00e1s por el hecho de que los \u00faltimos Abarth t\u00e9rmicos (595 y 695) se retiraron del cat\u00e1logo en agosto de 2024. Seg\u00fan \u00e9l, los clientes de Abarth no se identifican con los modelos el\u00e9ctricos actuales. No porque carezcan fundamentalmente de inter\u00e9s, sino porque ya no ofrecen lo que ha sido la esencia de la marca durante d\u00e9cadas: la posibilidad de modificar, optimizar y retocar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Los clientes de Abarth quieren un motor de combusti\u00f3n, no s\u00f3lo por la potencia, sino porque compran el coche y luego lo modifican ellos mismos\", admite. \"No podemos hacer eso con los coches el\u00e9ctricos. No pueden meter las manos en el motor ni jugar con el combustible. Basado en una versi\u00f3n modificada de la plataforma del 500e, est\u00e1 propulsado por un peque\u00f1o motor de gasolina 1.0 atmosf\u00e9rico de 65 CV. No lo suficiente para entusiasmar a las multitudes, desde luego, pero s\u00ed para hacer posible la vuelta a la vida de un deportivo Abarth propulsado por combusti\u00f3n... en teor\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Y ah\u00ed es donde los comentarios de Gaetano Thorel resultan especialmente reveladores. S\u00ed, la plataforma puede soportar m\u00e1s potencia. Pero no, el motor 1.0 actual nunca podr\u00e1 ofrecer el car\u00e1cter explosivo que esperan los aficionados. Es demasiado poco potente, demasiado lineal y demasiado modesto. Tambi\u00e9n hay serias limitaciones t\u00e9cnicas: la plataforma del 500e se dise\u00f1\u00f3 para un motor el\u00e9ctrico compacto, lo que deja muy poco espacio para un motor de combusti\u00f3n m\u00e1s grande o que requiera un sistema de refrigeraci\u00f3n mayor. As\u00ed que la ecuaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica no es nada sencilla. Demuestra que Stellantis ha comprendido que la estrategia actual conduce directamente al pared\u00f3n. Ni siquiera el 600e, construido sobre una base com\u00fan con el Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, el Lancia Ypsilon HF y el Opel Mokka GSE, consigue seducir. Por tanto, la cuesti\u00f3n no es s\u00f3lo t\u00e9cnica, sino estrat\u00e9gica: \u00bfsigue mereciendo la pena invertir en un nuevo Abarth de combusti\u00f3n, teniendo en cuenta que los vol\u00famenes son actualmente anecd\u00f3ticos? \u00bfPodr\u00eda reintegrarse Abarth en la comunicaci\u00f3n de Fiat en Europa, como en Am\u00e9rica Latina, donde a\u00fan sobrevive? \u00bfO simplemente se sacrificar\u00e1 la marca en una futura racionalizaci\u00f3n de Stellantis?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El anuncio no garantiza el regreso del escorpi\u00f3n rugiente. Pero s\u00ed confirma que Abarth escucha por fin lo que dicen sus clientes, clubes y entusiastas.
