En 1968 fund\u00f3 Italdesign, una oficina de dise\u00f1o que redefinir\u00eda el autom\u00f3vil moderno. \u00bfSu primer gran proyecto? Giugiaro tom\u00f3 el chasis n\u00ba 750.33.116 de este civilizado coche de carreras, el Tipo 33\/2 Stradale, y lo transform\u00f3 en un concepto rodante. Un motor de 230 CV a 8.000 rpm, capaz de llevar a este coup\u00e9 ultraligero de 700 kg a velocidades superiores a los 260 km\/h. M\u00e1s tarde, por razones de fiabilidad, este bloque fue sustituido por el V8 de 2,6 litros del futuro Alfa Montreal, que segu\u00eda produciendo 200 CV. Aqu\u00ed, Giugiaro se atreve con l\u00edneas angulosas y tensas, siempre equilibradas. Con su aler\u00f3n ajustable el\u00e9ctricamente, sus ventanillas envolventes y sus pilares cromados, el Iguana combinaba prestaciones y ciencia ficci\u00f3n mucho antes de su tiempo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hoy, el \u00fanico ejemplar del Alfa Romeo Iguana descansa en el Museo Storico Alfa Romeo, testimonio de una \u00e9poca en la que el dise\u00f1o italiano se atrev\u00eda con todo.
