El coche se present\u00f3 en el Sal\u00f3n Mundial de Montreal de 1967, de ah\u00ed su nombre, y pretend\u00eda reintroducir un modelo de prestigio en la gama del Biscione. Giuseppe Busso explica que, por razones presupuestarias, se abandon\u00f3 el chasis espec\u00edfico previsto inicialmente y Alfa Romeo recurri\u00f3 al chasis del coup\u00e9 Bertone GTV 2000 existente. Pero la direcci\u00f3n decidi\u00f3 que un V8 era m\u00e1s prestigioso. El motor ten\u00eda que encajar en el chasis de este coup\u00e9 GTV, lo que significaba elevar toda la l\u00ednea de cintura, al igual que la integraci\u00f3n de las ventanillas laterales muy curvadas. La corta distancia entre ejes del GTV dio lugar a un coup\u00e9 Montreal m\u00e1s alto y con mayores voladizos de lo esperado, lo que, para los puristas insatisfechos, alteraba el equilibrio de peso y la fluidez aerodin\u00e1mica del coche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"732\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-oroginal.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-oroginal.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-oroginal-420x256.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-oroginal-768x468.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-oroginal-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>El motor era un V8 a 90\u00b0 con cuatro \u00e1rboles de levas en cabeza y 200 CV, derivado del V8 de 2 litros del Alfa 33 de carreras, rectificado para aumentar su cilindrada a 2.593 cm3 con inyecci\u00f3n mec\u00e1nica Spica (\u00a1que caus\u00f3 muchos problemas!), todo ello acoplado a una caja de cambios manual ZF de 5 velocidades. La empresa Autodelta ofreci\u00f3 modificaciones del motor para aumentar la potencia de 220 a 250 CV, pero s\u00f3lo se construyeron 3 ejemplares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"825\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-sketechg.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-sketechg.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-sketechg-420x289.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-sketechg-768x528.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-romeo-montreal-sketechg-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Apreciado por sus l\u00edneas elegantes y el estridente sonido del V8, el Montreal ten\u00eda m\u00e1s el temperamento de un GT de carretera que el de un deportivo, y su din\u00e1mica de conducci\u00f3n no estaba a la altura de las expectativas. El chasis se basaba en un dise\u00f1o anticuado, la distribuci\u00f3n del peso, claramente hacia delante debido al gran V8, lo hac\u00eda subvirador y poco \u00e1gil, mientras que el sistema de frenado resultaba un poco ligero. Esto es sin duda lo que conden\u00f3 al Montreal a una corta carrera en competici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00a1El Alfa Romeo Montreal, por OKTech!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-montreal-v8-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41235\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-montreal-v8-1.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-montreal-v8-1-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-montreal-v8-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/alfa-montreal-v8-1-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>De hecho, quienes tienen el valor y los medios para hacerlo han emprendido modificaciones en Montreal, para ajustarla m\u00e1s al esp\u00edritu del proyecto inicial. Entre ellos est\u00e1 OKTech, que mencionamos hace poco. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/es\/alfa-romeo\/este-alfa-romeo-75-esta-propulsado-por-un-v6-busso-con-500-cv-a-9000-rpm-el-mas-potente-del-mundo\/\">los Alfa Romeo 75 Busso y Bialbero sobrealimentados<\/a>. \u00bfSu nombre? \u00bf\"Flatplane\" de Montreal? \u00bfQu\u00e9 significa? El nombre hace referencia a cambios sustanciales en el motor, que sigue siendo un V8, pero esta vez su cilindrada ha aumentado hasta los 3,3 litros. Esta configuraci\u00f3n, ampliamente utilizada en los V8 de carretera, ten\u00eda la ventaja de producir un motor m\u00e1s suave y m\u00e1s utilizable en el d\u00eda a d\u00eda que un V8 con cig\u00fce\u00f1al plano, una soluci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica que se utiliz\u00f3 en el V8 de los 33. As\u00ed que hemos cerrado el c\u00edrculo con este 3,3 litros plano, \u00a1dotando al Montreal de un motor con esp\u00edritu de competici\u00f3n!
