Lotus y los dem\u00e1s fabricantes brit\u00e1nicos eran los m\u00e1s atrevidos en cuanto a chasis y dise\u00f1o aerodin\u00e1mico (la arquitectura de motor central trasero, los alerones, los pontones, etc. fueron introducidos por ellos), mientras que Ferrari, m\u00e1s conservador en este \u00e1mbito, compensaba con su saber hacer en el campo de los motores. Ferrari sol\u00eda burlarse de estos artesanos brit\u00e1nicos, a los que llamaba despectivamente \"propietarios de garajes\", a pesar de ser un fabricante por derecho propio. Colin Chapman, en 1982, y luego Enzo Ferrari, en 1988, dejaron tras de s\u00ed un enorme vac\u00edo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/es\/ferrari\/ferrari-gana-cada-vez-mas-dinero-por-cada-coche-vendido-y-podria-batir-un-nuevo-record-en-2025\/\">Ferrari bate r\u00e9cords de ventas<\/a>Mientras que Lotus ha tenido sus crisis de popularidad y rentabilidad, ha sufrido crisis existenciales m\u00e1s profundas y ahora intenta reinventarse a trav\u00e9s de la energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica. En Sud\u00e1frica se desarroll\u00f3 un veh\u00edculo h\u00edbrido entre las dos marcas: cabe preguntarse cu\u00e1l habr\u00eda sido la reacci\u00f3n de los dos monstruos sagrados ante semejante creaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las subidas son el patio de recreo favorito de los magos, y en algunas categor\u00edas hay mucha libertad para dar rienda suelta a las propias veleidades mec\u00e1nicas. El ejemplo m\u00e1s evidente es la pr\u00e1ctica del \"swapping\", es decir, cambiar simplemente el motor del coche base, como vimos hace poco con <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/es\/alfa-romeo\/dos-alfa-romeo-4c-de-670-y-700-cv-se-disputan-la-victoria-en-italia\/\">el Alfa Romeo 4C Picchio de 700 CV<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un motor con una segunda vida<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dawie Joubert se inici\u00f3 en el automovilismo en la pista de dragsters y luego en el Grupo N del Campeonato Sudafricano de Autom\u00f3viles de Producci\u00f3n. En 2001, compr\u00f3 su primer Lotus: un Elise Motorsport, en el que hab\u00eda empezado a hacer conversiones. En la configuraci\u00f3n de f\u00e1brica, el V8 biturbo desarrolla 661 CV a 8.000 rpm y 760 Nm a 3.000 rpm. El motor se mejora aqu\u00ed, gracias a algunos cambios en los turbocompresores IHI, un intercambiador de calor a medida y una gesti\u00f3n revisada: desarrollar\u00eda 765 CV en 2022 y 870 CV en 2023. Como siempre, el aler\u00f3n trasero es la parte m\u00e1s extrema. Gan\u00f3 su categor\u00eda y termin\u00f3 2\u00ba en la general, a s\u00f3lo 1 segundo del tiempo marcado por un monoplaza.
