Tras la apariencia de una berlina de turismo vitaminada se escond\u00eda en realidad una especie de monoplaza carrozado, basado en un chasis tubular, aunque conservando el aspecto est\u00e9tico del modelo de serie. Alfa Romeo hab\u00eda desarrollado un espectacular 164 Procar, equipado con el motor V10 desarrollado originalmente para la F1, pero el proyecto nunca lleg\u00f3 a materializarse, ya que el campeonato naci\u00f3 muerto. S\u00f3lo qued\u00f3 una demostraci\u00f3n de la berlina en Monza en 1988, en manos de Riccardo Patr\u00e8se.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">El 156, reina de los 2 litros<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Alfa Romeo disfrut\u00f3 entonces de la gloria del DTM con el 155 V6 Ti, campe\u00f3n en 1993. Cuando se lanz\u00f3 el 156 en 1996, el campeonato DTM, que se hab\u00eda convertido en un ITC, estaba a punto de desaparecer, debido a la espiral de costes y a la retirada de los fabricantes. Sin embargo, la berlina italiana continu\u00f3 la herencia deportiva del Biscione en la categor\u00eda superturismos de 2 litros. El 156 GTA gan\u00f3 cuatro veces consecutivas los Campeonatos Italiano y Europeo de Turismos, con los pilotos italianos Fabrizio Giovanardi y Gabriele Tarquini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A finales de los 90, justo cuando el DTM estaba a punto de resurgir de sus cenizas, resurgi\u00f3 la idea de un campeonato de siluetas. Una empresa espa\u00f1ola llamada RPM estaba trabajando en la creaci\u00f3n de un campeonato inspirado en los stock cars, el Campeonato de Maxiturismo. RPM encarg\u00f3 a Coloni el dise\u00f1o de un chasis para todos los coches, sobre el que los equipos podr\u00edan instalar el motor y la carrocer\u00eda de su elecci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Coloni, el ex ni\u00f1o de la F1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Con el apoyo de Christian Peruzzi, Director de Fiat, Alfa y Lancia en Alemania, y con el visto bueno de la casa matriz italiana, Coloni se puso a dise\u00f1ar un Alfa Romeo 156 para el Grupo E, digno heredero del 164 Procar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Echemos un r\u00e1pido vistazo a la historia de la Scuderia Coloni, un equipo fundado en 1982 por Enzo Coloni. Tras ganar el campeonato italiano de F3, este otro Enzo se embarc\u00f3 en la aventura de la F1 en 1987, pero debido a la falta de recursos, el equipo qued\u00f3 confinado al fondo de la parrilla... \u00a1cuando consigui\u00f3 clasificarse! Hasta 1991, la Scuderia Coloni intent\u00f3 clasificarse 82 veces, pero s\u00f3lo particip\u00f3 en 14 Grandes Premios. En aquella \u00e9poca, ante la inflaci\u00f3n del n\u00famero de equipos (\u00a120 escuder\u00edas y 41 inscritos en 1990!), la F1 hab\u00eda introducido las eliminatorias previas. Tras su fracaso en la F\u00f3rmula 1, Coloni prob\u00f3 suerte en categor\u00edas inferiores, como la F\u00f3rmula 3000, la F\u00f3rmula 3 y la GP2, con resultados bastante satisfactorios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00a1Qu\u00e9 cara! \u00a1Y qu\u00e9 sonido!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/alfa-romeo-156-coloni-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39576\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/alfa-romeo-156-coloni-1.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/alfa-romeo-156-coloni-1-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/alfa-romeo-156-coloni-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/alfa-romeo-156-coloni-1-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>En la misma l\u00ednea que el Alfa Romeo 164 Procar, el 156 Coloni S1 utiliza la carrocer\u00eda de la berlina urbana, pero con v\u00edas extra anchas, paneles de fibra de carbono y s\u00f3lo dos puertas. El aspecto es espectacular, digno del 155 DTM. Al retirar la parte trasera, que se eleva como en el 164 Procar, se descubre el motor en posici\u00f3n central trasera: un Alfa Romeo V6 de 3,0 litros que produce 380 CV, acoplado a una caja de cambios secuencial Hewland de seis velocidades. La suspensi\u00f3n consist\u00eda en trapecios superpuestos y amortiguadores Eibach delante y detr\u00e1s. Las ruedas eran llantas OZ Racing de 18 pulgadas, que albergaban frenos de disco carbonocer\u00e1micos Brembo. El conductor se sentaba en el centro, como en un monoplaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/alfa-romeo-156-coloni-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39577\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/alfa-romeo-156-coloni-4.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/alfa-romeo-156-coloni-4-420x280.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/alfa-romeo-156-coloni-4-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/alfa-romeo-156-coloni-4-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>En configuraci\u00f3n de clasificaci\u00f3n, la potencia pod\u00eda alcanzar los 500 CV a 10.000 rpm, garantizando un sonido absolutamente fant\u00e1stico. Con un peso de s\u00f3lo 900 kilos, sus prestaciones eran asombrosas, con un 0 a 100 en menos de 3 segundos y una velocidad m\u00e1xima que superaba con creces los 320 km\/h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sin seguimiento, una vez m\u00e1s<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pero hab\u00eda un problema: el precio. Un coche costaba el equivalente a 300.000 d\u00f3lares estadounidenses de la \u00e9poca, sin contar la infraestructura de la pista. El 156 Coloni S1 deb\u00eda convencer a equipos y fabricantes para participar en el Campeonato de Maxiturismo, pero nadie se anim\u00f3 porque las repercusiones y la visibilidad de este formato, centrado en Espa\u00f1a, estaban lejos de estar garantizadas. Es una pena, porque los duelos con el M\u00e9gane Trophy, en clase silueta, \u00a1habr\u00edan sido una aut\u00e9ntica delicia!
