A month ago, we introduced you to four Lamborghini<\/a> exceptional cars that were set to go under the hammer during Monterey Car Week. One Countach<\/a>a Diablo<\/a> and two Murci\u00e9lago<\/a>, all of which are remarkable for their rarity, their condition, or their very low mileage. Estimates suggested the sale would exceed $6 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final results are in, and they far exceeded expectations. The four Lamborghinis offered by the same owner\u2014the company Curated\u2014in collaboration with RM Sotheby\u2019s brought in a total of $7.417 million. But most importantly, each one set a new sales record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Murci\u00e9lago SV exceeds $3 million<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It was already one of the most notable cars in this selection. This 2010 Lamborghini Murci\u00e9lago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, with just 791 miles on the odometer, ultimately sold for $3.14 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A spectacular sum for a Murci\u00e9lago, even when it comes to the highly sought-after SV. This particular example, however, boasts a number of unique features: Nero Aldebaran paint\u2014only eight cars in the U.S. come in this color\u2014and, most notably, the rare small \u00ablow wing\u00bb rear spoiler, chosen by only three customers in the United States. Having remained off the market for over a decade and kept by its first owner, it has thus become the star of this auction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Countach LP400 S surpasses 2.3 million<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another impressive result: $2.37 million for the 1979 Lamborghini Countach LP400 S Series I, setting a new auction record for this version. Only 50 units of this first series were produced, and the one sold in Monterey had some serious selling points. With just 1,803 km on the odometer, its original paint, interior, and even tires, this Countach was touted as one of the best-preserved examples in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Estimated at between $2.2 million and $2.6 million prior to the sale, it underscores just how sought-after the very first Countach LP400 S models have become among collectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over $800,000 for a 1991 Diablo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The surprise may well be the 1991 Lamborghini Diablo. Estimated at between $550,000 and $700,000, it ultimately sold for $802,500, setting\u2014according to Curated\u2014a new record for a 1991 or 1992 Diablo. Once again, it\u2019s hard to find a comparable example: fewer than 1,000 miles on the odometer, original paint and interior, and a Bianco exterior with a Champagne interior\u2014a combination produced in only six examples in the coupe version. This result shows that perfectly preserved early Diablos are, too, beginning to reach new heights on the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Murci\u00e9lago 40th Anniversary Crosses the One-Million Mark<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the 2003 Murci\u00e9lago 40th Anniversary sold for $1.105 million. According to Curated, this makes it the first Murci\u00e9lago 580 Coup\u00e9 to publicly break the $1 million mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With only 50 units produced in the Verde Artemis color (which appears blue in the photos), the one offered in Monterey was, symbolically, number 50. It also features the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V12 paired with the highly sought-after six-speed manual transmission. Just a few years ago, seeing a Murci\u00e9lago fetch over a million would have seemed exceptional. In Monterey, two examples sold for $1.1 million and $3.14 million, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These four sales therefore point to something broader than just a successful evening: the Countach, Diablo, and now the Murci\u00e9lago seem to be entering a new phase in the classic Lamborghini market. And when low mileage, a rare configuration, and original condition come together, records can fall one after another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
