Just two letters are enough to turn up the heat at Lamborghini<\/a> : SV. Fifty-five years after the Miura SV\u2014the first model in the Super Veloce lineage\u2014the automaker from Sant\u2019Agata Bolognese is bringing this emblem back into the spotlight with the Revuelto SV<\/a>. A more powerful, lighter, and\u2014above all\u2014much more radical version of its V12 hybrid supercar, limited to 1,963 units\u2014a nod to the year Lamborghini was founded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1,065 hp, but still a naturally aspirated V12<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The setup remains delightfully over-the-top. At the heart of the Revuelto SV is still the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12, which here produces 825 hp at 9,250 rpm and can rev as high as 9,500 rpm. It works in conjunction with three electric motors: two on the front axle and a third integrated near the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. A new 7.3-kWh battery completes the setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Result: 1,065 hp and 1,425 Nm, compared to 1,015 hp for the Revuelto. With a power-to-weight ratio of just 1.66 kg\/hp, the SV accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds, reaches 124 mph in 6.7 seconds, and exceeds 214 mph. Lamborghini specifies 216 mph in the technical specifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This makes it the most powerful production Lamborghini ever built in Sant\u2019Agata Bolognese. Well\u2026 almost. The Fenomeno<\/a>, a special edition limited to just 29 units, delivers 1,080 hp. The distinction, therefore, lies in the latter\u2019s extremely exclusive status, while the Revuelto SV sets the new benchmark for the production lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An SV isn't just about 50 extra horsepower<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lamborghini has focused primarily on what has historically made the Super Veloce so appealing: its handling. The aerodynamics have been thoroughly revised with a new splitter, a redesigned underbody, and, most notably, this imposing fixed rear wing. Together, these features generate 80 % of additional downforce compared to a Revuelto, and even 10 % more than an Aventador SVJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even more surprising in such a sophisticated supercar, Lamborghini has adopted manually adjustable passive shock absorbers, directly inspired by its experience in GT3 racing. The manufacturer claims an additional 17 % of agility and 10 % of lateral grip. The new CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic brakes, meanwhile, allow the car to come to a complete stop from 124 mph in just 360 feets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driver also has access to a brand-new \"Pilota\" mode, which can be activated using a red selector switch mounted on the steering wheel. Traction control can then be adjusted to one of five levels to adapt the car's handling to the track, driving conditions, or tire wear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Already the fastest at Hockenheim<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Even before its unveiling, the Revuelto SV had already begun to show what it was capable of. Driven by Lamborghini driver Marco Mapelli, it clocked a time of 1 min 41.6 s at Hockenheim, making it\u2014according to Lamborghini\u2014the fastest production car ever recorded on the German circuit. It\u2019s a rather convincing way to remind us of what those two letters have meant ever since the Miura: at Lamborghini, \u201cSuper Veloce\u201d isn\u2019t just synonymous with more power, but with a machine entirely focused on driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
