A few weeks after caught everyone's attention at the Top Marques show in Monaco<\/a>the Giamaro<\/a> Krafla is moving on to the next stage. The first drivable prototype of this new Italian supercar was spotted at the Monza circuit during MIMO 2026. A video posted by the NM2255 channel finally lets us see\u2014and, more importantly, hear\u2014the spectacular 7.0-liter quad-turbo V12 engine in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until now, Giamaro had mainly made a name for itself with its extraordinary specs. This time, the project is coming to life. From start-ups and revving up to the first few laps and even an onboard sequence on the Italian track, this first test drive confirms that the Krafla is no longer just a concept car meant for auto shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A V12 like we don't see anymore<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When you open the rear hood, the engine immediately catches your eye. Developed by Italtecnica, the 6,988 cm\u00b3 V12 features a 120\u00b0 architecture with a so-called \u00abhot V\u00bb configuration, in which the four Garrett turbochargers are positioned at the heart of the engine\u2019s V. This design was chosen to optimize cooling, compactness, and performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The four turbochargers, the exhaust manifolds wrapped in thermal insulation, and the six central exhaust tips make the engine bay look almost more impressive than the body itself. In the footage shot in the Monza pits, the Krafla reveals its raw mechanical components, still in the development phase, a far cry from the perfectly finished engine compartments of production models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sound is also surprising. Despite the four turbochargers, this V12 retains a metallic, raspy tone at low RPMs, before giving way to the whistling of the turbos when the driver accelerates hard. This is an unusual sound signature for a supercharged engine of this power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2,157 ch\u2026 only with the red key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This demonstration is also an opportunity to highlight what makes the Krafla unique. Giamaro designed a system of three physical keys that unlock different power levels. The white key limits the engine to a range between 400 and 800 ch, depending on the selected programming. The black key already unlocks 1,670 ch and 1,556 Nm of torque. Finally, the famous red key unlocks the full power: 2,157 ch at 9,000 rpm and 2,008 Nm of torque\u2014all powered by regular SP98 gasoline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All that power is transmitted exclusively to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automated manual transmission. This is a radical choice at a time when nearly all hypercars with more than 2,000 ch rely on all-wheel drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Promising First Test Run<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Of course, this is still just a shakedown. The prototype is being driven cautiously, and the engineers seem to be closely monitoring every pit stop. But that\u2019s not the point: the Giamaro Krafla is now on the track, and its impressive quad-turbo V12 is finally roaring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a brand that was still unknown just a year ago, this dynamic debut marks a significant milestone. It now remains to be seen whether the ambitions outlined on paper can be translated into a production model capable of handling more than 2,100 chevaux. If the next phases of development go as planned, the Krafla could well become one of the most extravagant Italian hypercars of this decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
