Although deliveries began less than a year ago, the Ferrari F80<\/a> hasn't finished making headlines yet. And this time, it's neither for its performance nor for its hybrid technology producing over 1,200 ch. In a recent interview with a British dealership Tom Hartley Cars<\/a>, the founder of Mansory let slip a piece of information that might set some teeth on edge in Maranello: a future owner of a Ferrari F80 is reportedly already in talks with the German tuning firm about modifying his hypercar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferrari and Mansory: A Historically Complicated Relationship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For more than twenty years, Mansory has established itself as one of the world\u2019s most controversial automotive tuners. Its extravagant creations divide opinion as much as they fascinate. During the interview, Kourosh Mansory acknowledges that while some automakers appreciate his work, others have taken him to court in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without explicitly mentioning any specific case, he implies that Ferrari<\/a> is one of the brands that has already had disputes with Mansory. Despite this, the tuning company continues to offer kits and modifications for the Italian automaker\u2019s models. This situation perfectly illustrates the ambiguous relationship between Ferrari and certain independent tuning companies. This is probably the most surprising part of the interview. One of the interviewees reveals that he is currently in contact with a customer who purchased a Ferrari F80. Without revealing the customer\u2019s identity or country of residence, he explains that this owner is already in communication with Mansory. According to comments made during the interview, the car might even go directly to the German tuning firm after delivery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the interviewer suggests that Ferrari probably wouldn\u2019t look too favorably on this initiative, the reply comes quickly: \u00abThey don\u2019t know about it yet.\u00bb One can only imagine the reaction of the teams at Maranello if one of the first F80s produced were to receive a full Mansory makeover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A change that could spark controversy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For Ferrari, the F80 represents much more than just a supercar. It embodies the pinnacle of the brand\u2019s technological expertise, with extremely limited production and a rigorous selection process for its customers. However, Mansory is known for not settling for just a few cosmetic tweaks. The tuner typically makes extensive modifications to the bodywork, adds numerous carbon-fiber components, and redesigns the bumpers, fenders, diffusers, and interiors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company\u2019s founder also emphasizes that his parts are not merely decorative. According to him, every component developed serves a genuine aerodynamic purpose and requires many months of development. He states that some projects take nearly two years of work before they are brought to market. Applied to a Ferrari F80, such a philosophy could result in one of the most spectacular modifications ever made to a Maranello hypercar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ferrari F80 is already one of the most exclusive cars on the market today. But for some collectors, that\u2019s clearly not enough. Mansory explains that its clientele consists of celebrities, professional athletes, entrepreneurs, oligarchs, and even new millionaires from the world of cryptocurrency. This clientele seeks, above all, to stand out and be unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To stand out in this world, owning a Ferrari F80 that\u2019s identical to another customer\u2019s is out of the question. A Mansory customization allows you to create a one-of-a-kind vehicle, even if it means straying from the original vision of Ferrari\u2019s designers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will Ferrari like it?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The answer seems pretty obvious. Imagine an F40, an F50, or a Ferrari Enzo modified by Mansory! Although Ferrari has never officially commented on this matter, the brand has always firmly defended the integrity of its models. The Italian automaker closely monitors modifications made to its cars and doesn\u2019t hesitate to distance itself from certain projects deemed too far removed from its brand image. And given the German tuner\u2019s reputation, one thing is certain: the future Ferrari F80 Mansory would leave no one indifferent. It might even be called the V80.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
