Remember this Ferrari Testarossa transformed into a six-wheeled monster<\/a>, The \u00abF6\u00bb project is the first of its kind, capable of unleashing a war between Ferrari purists, Mad Max fans and American tuners. Two years after the first images of the project were released, the \"F6\" project resurfaces with an official teaser published on May 23, 2026, finally announcing the revelation of the final version. And the least we can say is that this Ferrari no longer has much in common with a Mad Max. Ferrari<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A doomed Testarossa... turned into a crazy project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When Alexandre Danton, founder of Danton Arts Kustoms, began publishing the first images of the transformation, many immediately thought of it as sacrilege. However, according to the explanations given at the time, the base used was not a Testarossa<\/a> in perfect condition, but a very tired copy, virtually destined for the scrap heap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But for Alexandre Danton, this was more than enough to give birth to one of the most extreme projects ever built around a Ferrari. His idea: to create a kind of post-apocalyptic machine inspired by the world of Mad Max, with six wheels, an enlarged body and a 1200 hp American engine. This was not the Frenchman's first mechanical delirium. Already known for his over-the-top creations, including a completely transformed Hummer 6\u00d76, he eventually attracted the attention of Gas Monkey Garage and its media-savvy boss Richard Rawlings. And so the Ferrari project went to the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very quickly, the videos published show the scale of the project. The Testarossa is literally cut up. The entire rear section disappears, the chassis is modified and the running gear replaced, while the Ferrari flat-12 gives way to a Chevrolet LT4 V8 prepared by Katech Performance, capable of developing around 1,200 hp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The styling becomes totally unreal. Four-wheel drive at the rear, gigantic fenders, bespoke exhausts, huge spoiler, transformed cockpit... the car looks more like a vehicle from a dystopian film than an Italian GT from the '80s. Even the famous retractable headlights have disappeared. At the rear, Ferrari F355 lights replace the original elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project that turned into a settling of scores<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Then, for many months, nothing. The F6 disappeared completely off the radar. Some thought the project had been abandoned. Others imagined technical or financial problems. Finally, at the end of 2025, the story takes a totally unexpected turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexandre Danton publicly accuses Gas Monkey Garage on social networks to make the project their own<\/a>, Rawlings claimed that he had been poorly paid and left out of the car's communications. In response, Richard Rawlings explains that the Ferrari he received was far from finished, and that a huge amount of work had to be redone in the United States. Both sides blame each other. Delays, financial penalties, manufacturing quality, contracts... the project turned into a transatlantic mechanical soap opera. Many thought that the F6 would never see the light of day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April 2026: the resurrection of the F6<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And yet, at the beginning of April 2026, Gas Monkey Garage relaunched the project with a long video showing the final stages of assembly. It shows the car on the road at last, with its bodywork almost finished, its panels adjusted, its huge spoiler installed and its interior completed. The team even explains that they have been working non-stop for weeks to complete the car after more than two years in development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the video, the engine finally starts up and the sound is as excessive as the car's appearance. The teams refer to the project as the \u00abcraziest build ever\u00bb at Gas Monkey. The name \u00abF6\u00bb now officially appears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
