At the Investor Day of Stellantis<\/a>, There were high expectations for the Italian brands. After several months of rumours, delayed projects and strategic repositioning, this presentation was finally intended to give a clear vision of the future for\u2019Alfa Romeo<\/a> by 2030. And yet, within seconds, it was all over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Fiat had its own presentation in some detail<\/a> and Maserati was at least briefly mentioned at the start of the presentation<\/a>, the Alfa Romeo sequence was dispatched in a mere twenty seconds. A simple slide, a few models displayed, a quick \u201cMore to come\u201d... then on to the next subject. And to be honest, although we're disappointed, we're not really surprised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A stripped-down Alfa Romeo range until 2030<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What Stellantis has confirmed is that by 2030, Alfa Romeo's range will essentially be based on five models: the Alfa Romeo Junior, Alfa Romeo Tonale, Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfa Romeo Stelvio, plus a new C-SUV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This famous \u201cA4U\u201d project, which we've been telling you about for some time now, has now been confirmed. Initially conceived as a replacement for the Alfa Romeo Tonale, it could finally change its name and become a fully-fledged model in the range. Its presentation is expected by the end of 2026 (yes, because 20 seconds is too short to give a date).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation also mentions the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale<\/a>, However, it was unveiled as early as 2023 and only 33 units were produced. A future \u201cmade-to-measure\u201d project was also quickly mentioned. Here again, nothing really new, since we had already talked about this possible exclusive sports car, which could take the shape of a very limited spider<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A very blurred vision for Giulia and Stelvio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So what can we really expect between now and 2030? Visit Alfa Romeo Junior<\/a> should continue its career, probably with several updates over the years. The new C-SUV will arrive by the end of 2026. As for the Alfa Romeo Tonale<\/a>, Freshly restyled, everything points to a gradual end to its career before 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future generations of the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfa Romeo Stelvio are still planned (we hope so, nothing has been said), probably around 2027 or 2028. But here again, no concrete information. No design, no detailed platform, no engines, no clear strategy. And that's the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No compact, no GTV, no dream<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Many were hoping for more. A new compact car? The return of an Alfa Romeo GTV? Technical details on the future Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfa Romeo Stelvio? A truly ambitious product vision? None of these were forthcoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Above all, this presentation gives the impression that Alfa Romeo is now run on a bare-bones basis. A brand that continues to exist, but without any real impetus or exciting long-term vision. As we at Italpassion have been sensing for several months, Alfa Romeo, like Maserati, seems to be gradually becoming a secondary player in the Stellantis galaxy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because beyond the numbers and PowerPoint slides, a brand like Alfa Romeo needs passion, desire and vision to continue to make people dream. Today, it's hard to say that this presentation has reassured us on this point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, there are still Italian brands capable of thrilling enthusiasts, like Ferrari or Lamborghini.
