Porsche GT3s screaming into the night, BMW Ms prepared for endurance racing, Mercedes-AMGs hurtling down the Nordschleife like missiles. And then, in the midst of this setting reserved for prestigious manufacturers and ultra-professional teams, an unlikely car managed the feat of becoming the star of the last 24 Hours of N\u00fcrburgring: a simple Dacia Logan. Yes, a Logan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not a prototype. Not a supercar costing several hundred thousand euros. A Romanian sedan associated with cabs, tight budgets and hard plastics. And yet, the internet has fallen in love with this car entered by the small Ollis Garage Racing team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Dacia nobody expected<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The phenomenon is fascinating because it is based on an almost absurd contrast. On a track where GT3s capable of more than 500 hp race, this Dacia Logan seems to come from another universe. And that's precisely why it's so captivating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reconstructed after an accident in 2023 thanks in part to participatory funding, this racing Logan has come back even stronger with a 280 hp turbo engine entered in the SP3T category. The team operates with sponsors, resourcefulness, passion and a determination reminiscent of what motor sport used to be: enthusiasts attempting the impossible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1629649864779098%2F&#038;show_text=false&#038;width=267&#038;t=0\" width=\"267\" height=\"476\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Onboard videos are everywhere on social networks. Passages through the Karussell go viral. Spectators applaud this Logan like a folk hero lost among the aristocrats of endurance racing. It will probably never win the race, but it has already won something far more precious: the respect of the public. This Dacia has nothing to lose. How can we explain the fact that no Alfa Romeo Giulia has been officially entered for such an event? For premium and luxury brands, image is everything. A Dacia Logan can become sympathetic by finishing far behind. An Alfa Romeo or a Maserati, on the other hand, must avoid ridicule. In the minds of managers, it's not enough to take part: you have to be credible, competitive, capable of playing up front. And that's probably where everything comes to a standstill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because hiring a Giulia Quadrifoglio or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/en\/cars\/maserati-mc20\/\">MC20<\/a> on the 24 Hours of N\u00fcrburgring involves major investment, serious preparation and, above all, the risk of public failure. Some managers no doubt prefer to avoid this kind of gamble. But even so, it's hard not to feel frustrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The paradox is that the cars already exist. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/en\/cars\/alfa-romeo-giulia\/\">Giulia Quadrifoglio<\/a> has an extraordinary chassis and genuine sporting legitimacy. As for the Maserati MC20\/MCPura, it probably represents one of the best modern Italian bases for endurance racing. The N\u00fcrburgring is precisely the kind of circuit where a brand builds a legend. And that's exactly what this Dacia Logan is proving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a time when automakers communicate so much about emotion, passion and sporting DNA, seeing a small independent team generate more sympathy than a large industrial group inevitably raises questions. Because at the end of the day, what enthusiasts want isn't just well-marketed hybrid SUVs or impressive power figures. They want excitement. They want to see cars battle it out on legendary circuits. They want stories. And today, it's a Dacia Logan that delivers that emotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All is not doom and gloom for Italian enthusiasts, however.
