The story may seem incredible, but it's very real. In Catanzaro, in the south of Italy, a car presented as a Ferrari F355<\/a> caught the attention of the authorities. Behind this legendary sports car from the 90s, a symbol of Maranello's know-how, was in fact... a simple Toyota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the illusion was taken to extremes. The car had been completely modified to resemble the famous F355 GTS, produced between 1994 and 1999 and designed by Pininfarina. Bodywork, wheels, logos, exterior elements: everything had been replaced to faithfully imitate the Italian model. Even certain mechanical and visual elements gave the illusion... at first glance. Marketed and promoted on the Internet as a genuine Ferrari<\/a>, With no price tag, this replica could fool an unwary buyer. Even today, a genuine F355 in good condition can fetch between 90,000 and 130,000 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the deception didn't last long. The Catanzaro court, assisted by experts sent directly by Ferrari, quickly identified the fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vehicle was seized from a dealership before being completely dismantled. Counterfeit parts (badges, body parts, components imitating those of the F355) were methodically removed. Behind this painstaking work was a clear objective: to demonstrate the extent of the counterfeiting and prevent the car from being put back on the road. The operation was carried out on the orders of the Catanzaro court, which ordered not only the seizure but also the destruction of the falsified components. The Toyota, stripped of its illegal components, will be returned to its owner. He will be prosecuted for counterfeiting and brought to justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
