There's now a place entirely dedicated to the most original Fiat Topolino. And the location is not insignificant: it's in Mirafiori, Turin, the historic birthplace of Fiat<\/a>. A new activity has come to life in this neighborhood, a symbol of the Italian automotive industry, with the official opening of a workshop dedicated to the customization of Stellantis small electric cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unofficially called the \u00abTopolino Factory\u00bb, this structure is operated by ITA Innovation, the company of designer Massimo Biancone, already known for several high-profile interpretations of the Fiat Topolino. The idea is simple: recuperate the Topolinos produced by Stellantis in Morocco, then transform them into special series 100 % Made in Italy thanks to customization kits developed and assembled in the Turin region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One more activity for Mirafiori<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The symbolism is strong. For decades, Mirafiori was the industrial heart of Fiat. Today, at a time when the Italian automotive industry is changing, this 2,000 m\u00b2 plant aims to revive a typically Turin tradition: that of coachbuilders capable of creating special series and one-off models from mass-produced cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massimo Biancone is proud of this heritage. All the suppliers used for these transformations come from the Turin area. A way of recreating a small local ecosystem around the Topolino, halfway between automotive craftsmanship and contemporary design. In this \u00abnew Mirafiori\u00bb, the Fiat Topolino becomes a creative base. And there's already no shortage of projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Carabinieri Topolino to the Sporting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Among ITA Innovation's best-known creations is the Carabinieri version, which has gone viral on social networks thanks to its look inspired by Italian law enforcement vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the version currently attracting the most attention is undoubtedly the new Topolino Sporting. A name that immediately appeals to Fiat enthusiasts. In the 1990s and 2000s, the name Sporting was used to designate the most dynamic and fun versions of the Cinquecento, Seicento or Punto. A time when a little yellow Fiat with black details was enough to evoke a certain popular sportiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ITA Innovation has decided to bring this spirit back to life with the Topolino electric. Obviously, performance remains the same: with its 6 kWh lithium-ion battery, 75 km range and maximum speed limited to 45 km\/h, the quadricycle retains its urban vocation. But the objective is elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Topolino Sporting clearly plays the emotional card. The yellow bodywork combined with a black roof is immediately reminiscent of the old Fiat Sporting. Carbon-black headlamp surrounds and bezels reinforce the sporty look, while the interior features red inserts and leather seats with contrasting stitching. This approach transforms the Topolino into a true lifestyle object, designed to appeal as much to generation Z as to those nostalgic for the small, sporty Fiat of the 90s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiat pushes the \u00absport heritage\u00bb concept\u00bb<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This orientation is no coincidence. At Milano Design Week 2026, Fiat presented the Topolino Sport Edition in a space called \u00abCIAO FUTURO!\u00bb, alongside iconic models such as the 1957 Fiat 500, under the watchful eye of designer Giorgetto Giugiaro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiat's message is clear: even a small electric quadricycle can carry the brand's emotional heritage. Admittedly, some see this as a marketing operation based more on style than technology. But Fiat seems to have understood that today, image and personalization have become essential, even on the simplest urban vehicles. And this is precisely where the Topolino Factory comes in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Topolino \u00e0 la carte<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With this dedicated structure, ITA Innovation aims to multiply the number of variations on the little Fiat. After the Villebrequin versions inspired by the Italian coast, the Corallo editions seen at Milano Design Week and the Carabinieri Topolino, the Sporting is probably just the beginning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Topolino is no longer just a simple urban electric quadricycle: it's becoming a medium of expression for Italian design. And in the end, perhaps that's exactly what this little Fiat needed to stand out even more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
