A large, discreet V12 coup\u00e9, often forgotten in the history of the brand, it seemed condemned to remain in the shadow of the Testarossa, F40 or 550 Maranello. And yet, in the United States, one owner decided to completely rewrite its destiny... even if it meant spending almost 2 million dollars on it. The result? Probably the most radical, most expensive and most impressive Ferrari 412 ever built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An extraordinary project by Otsuka Maxwell Design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This extreme restomod was entrusted to Otsuka Maxwell Design (OMD), a San Diego-based workshop renowned for its uncompromising bespoke creations. Over 5,000 hours of work went into transforming this 412 from top to bottom. Gone is the original V12. In its place, OMD has installed the 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 from the Ferrari 812 Superfast, one of the most spectacular engines ever produced by Ferrari. But the integration was not limited to a simple swap. To reinforce the visual link with the 412 era, the engine is fitted with specific retro-style valve covers. Technically, the transformation is even more profound, with the intake and airbox made entirely of custom carbon. The Ferrari 812 Superfast has never been offered with a manual gearbox. OMD took up the challenge. Starting with the automatic gearbox of a Ferrari 599 GTB, the workshop completely transformed it to create a six-speed manual gearbox with a metal grid. The bodywork is in Superfast Gold combined with black, a nod to the Ferrari 812. The modifications are numerous: redesigned, more compact bumpers, wider fenders and 18\" Brixton forged wheels, developed specifically for the project. OMD has completely redesigned the cabin with a blend of Alcantara, high-end leathers and carbon.
