Underground Racing strikes again. After unveiling a Hurac\u00e1n STO with over 2,000 hp for a Texan customer<\/a>the American tuner returns with a new, completely mad project. This time, the story begins in Saudi Arabia, where an enthusiast named Mohammad has decided to ship his Lamborghini Hurac\u00e1n STO<\/a> in the USA to turn it into a missile on wheels. The result surpasses all expectations: an Italian supercar capable of surpassing the 2,000 hp mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It all began when Mohammad, accustomed to the straight-line racing events so popular in the Gulf, looked for a Hurac\u00e1n STO capable of being driven on the road yet formidable in competition. He bought one configured to his specifications, then arranged for it to be sent to Underground Racing in Charlotte, USA. The specifications were simple: a car that could be used on a daily basis, that could withstand the stifling heat of Saudi Arabia, but still be capable of humiliating any competitor. In other words, the American tuner was given carte blanche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

V10 completely reinvented<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As is often the case at Underground Racing, the intervention was not limited to installing two turbos under the hood. The naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 Lamborghini<\/a> has been completely reinvented around a stronger, better-cooled, mass-cut aluminum block, designed to perform flawlessly under extreme desert temperatures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engine innards have been replaced by custom forgings, cylinder heads have been CNC ported, intake ducts have been rebuilt in machined aluminum, and the entire titanium twin-turbo system has been designed to deliver power levels normally reserved for drag racing machines. Added to this is a fully reinforced transmission, from first to seventh gear, a Promax racing clutch, reinforced cardan shafts, a redesigned differential and an autonomous JRR M1 engine management system capable of handling launch and traction control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2000 hp on ethanol<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With 93-octane fuel, power already reaches 1,200 hp. But once the ethanol is in the tank, the engine is unleashed and happily exceeds 2,000 hp. Despite this excess, the car remains drivable, reliable and surprisingly civilized. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, this is one of the owner's stated objectives: to obtain a machine that is monstrous, but capable of withstanding the roads and heat of Saudi Arabia without losing reliability. The tuner also integrated a fire extinguishing system, a racing wiring harness and a set of beadlock rims specially developed to handle the power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deceptive discretion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What's striking about this Hurac\u00e1n STO is that there's nothing visually extravagant about it. No large kit, no garish paintwork, no ostentatious details. It retains exactly the STO look that emerged from Sant'Agata Bolognese, with its massive spoiler, four-fin extractor, side skirts and sculpted roof. No one would guess that it develops three times the power of the original model. At standstill, it looks like a well-maintained Lamborghini STO. Under full acceleration, it becomes a weapon capable of making a Bugatti Tourbillon blush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a message posted on Instagram, Mohammad explained how much this car was thought out for his country and its use. He wanted an engine capable of withstanding high temperatures and a transmission ready to handle repeated rolling starts. He points out that the car is \"road and race ready, built to the best specifications to withstand the heat and conditions of Saudi Arabia\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
