History seems to repeat itself, but this time it's a rebirth. After resurrecting the Lancia 037 myth with the EVO37 and EVO38, Kimera Automobili<\/a> is preparing to take a new step forward. The Italian brand founded by former rally driver Luca Betti is preparing its arrival in competition with a radical model: the K39, a modern tribute to the Lancia Beta Montecarlo Groupe 5 of the 1970s and 1980s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presented in the summer of 2024, the Kimera K39 embodies the fusion of nostalgia and performance. Its name logically follows in the footsteps of the EVO37 and EVO38, but this time the project goes further: it's a fully-fledged racing car, born to take on the clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its design takes the iconic Martini Racing silhouette, but transposed into the future: carbon-fiber bodywork, sculpted fins, sharp lines and aerodynamics down to the smallest detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kimera speaks of a car \"shaped by the wind\", the result of many hours spent in a virtual wind tunnel. But behind this racing beauty lies a mechanical beast. The K39 rests on a custom-built carbon monocoque. Beneath its racing dress, it is said to conceal a twin-turbocharged V8 combined with a KERS (kinetic energy recovery system), for a maximum power output of 828 hp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exact performance figures are not yet available, but everything suggests that the K39 will have nothing to envy certain supercars. By way of comparison, the EVO38 already develops over 600 hp with a simple 4-cylinder engine. This time, Kimera changes scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most \"Betti\" of all<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a recent interview, Luca Betti, founder of Kimera Automobili, confided:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"My team and I are already working on the next jewel. For the moment, there's only one code name: K39, which will definitively confirm Kimera Automobili as a small and large engineering plant. The K39 will therefore be the most 'Betti' of all.\"<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

A project born of more than 30 years of motor sport, and above all, a clear statement: the K39 will not be just another \"restomod\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days ago, the official Kimera Automobili website opened a \"Motorsport\" section. In the background, a barely visible silhouette recalls that of the K39, while a countdown timer scrolls. This November 3, 2025, at 2pm, it shows 18 days, 10 hours, 1 minute and 18 seconds, which takes us to Saturday November 22, 2025, shortly after midnight. Everything suggests that on this date, Kimera will finally unveil its motorsport program. And everything suggests that this K39 will take part in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2026.
