Some models never really disappear, like the Honda NSX. Born in 1990, the Japanese supercar marked a whole generation with its naturally-aspirated V6, its honed chassis... and Ayrton Senna's involvement in its development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, it's the turn of\u2019Italdesign<\/a> to pay tribute to this legend, with an exclusive creation called the NSX Tribute. And after a remarkable first appearance at the Tokyo Auto Salon, this neo-retro interpretation is now on show at Milano Design Week, from April 20 to 26, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fusion of past and present<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Contrary to popular belief, this NSX Tribute is not based on the original 90s model, but on the second generation produced between 2016 and 2022. The Italian studio's objective is clear: to inject the visual DNA of the first NSX into a modern, hybrid and technologically advanced base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result is striking. The rear spoiler immediately evokes the silhouette of the original NSX, while the air intake on the roof, inspired by the rare NSX-R GT, adds a radical dimension. At the front, the designers have even recreated an illusion of the famous retractable headlights, thanks to subtly integrated \u201ceyelids\u201d. The wink doesn't stop there: the red Honda badges on the front and rear are reminiscent of the legendary NSX-R, as are the wheel centers of the special rims fitted with Yokohama tires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A tribute endorsed by Honda<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This creation is neither a simple styling study nor a restomod. Italdesign insists: this is a \u201cfew-off\u201d project, an ultra-limited production run based on existing cars. In concrete terms, customers are asked to supply their own second-generation NSX, which the studio then completely transforms. An important detail: only right-hand-drive versions can be converted, further restricting the number of eligible models from the 2,908 units produced at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the approach is more measured. The cabin remains faithful to the original, although customization options add a touch of exclusivity. An \u201cNSX Tribute by Italdesign\u201d badge is a discreet reminder of the studio's involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
