Jean Alesi continues to be the talk of the racing world. Ferrar<\/a>i collector's item. After selling his legendary F40 in 2020 to finance his son Giuliano's Formula 2 career, the Franco-Sicilian former F1 driver is preparing to part with another rare piece of his collection: his 1992 Ferrari F92A, a genuine Formula 1 single-seater... which hasn't been started in almost 30 years!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A piece of history from Scuderia Ferrari<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This F92A is no ordinary Ferrari. It was driven by Alesi himself during the 1992 season, at a time when the Scuderia was going through a period of turbulence. Designed by Jean-Claude Migeot, this innovative single-seater was distinguished by its revolutionary aerodynamics... but also by its technical weaknesses. Its 3.5-liter V12 developing 750 hp suffered from reliability problems, with power losses of 40 to 50 hp compared with the Williams-Renault rivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given to Alesi by Ferrari at the end of the season, the car has never taken to the track since. It has spent the last three decades immobile in the gym of his villa near Avignon, like a trophy frozen in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An exceptional auction in Paris<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

But history is about to have a new chapter. Artcurial Motorcars has announced that the F92A will go on sale on January 27, 2026 at the prestigious Automobile Legends auction, held at the H\u00f4tel Peninsula in Paris. The estimate? Between 3 and 4 million euros. A sum that not only reflects the car's historic value, but also its unique provenance: straight from the hands of the Ferrari factory driver himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthieu Lamoure, President of Artcurial Motorcars, points out that \"what makes this car truly unique is its provenance: it comes directly from the driver, certainly the most popular of his generation\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
