After the Fiat Grande Panda's perilous start in Europe, with production well under way in Serbia<\/a> and finally encouraging deliveries in september 2025<\/a>the Italian brand is already preparing the next step. And not the least: Fiat<\/a> is currently working on two new models to expand the Panda family: the Giga Panda and a Fastback SUV, a prototype of which has just been photographed on European roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new fastback SUV in the European Fiat range<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While the Giga Panda will be the Italian equivalent of the Citro\u00ebn C3 Aircross, the Fastback SUV will attract even more attention with its unprecedented silhouette. In the Stellantis universe, the only close reference is the Citro\u00ebn C4, with its coup\u00e9-like lines, but based on the eCMP platform. At Fiat, the future Fastback, like the Grande Panda and Giga Panda, will be based on the Smart Car platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visually, this new Fiat SUV will share its DNA more with the Citro\u00ebn Basalt, launched in India and other emerging markets in 2024, than with the Fiat Fastback already sold in Brazil since 2022. But be warned: this is no mere rebadging. The European model will have its own identity and will occupy a segment as yet untapped by Fiat on the Old Continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engines to suit all tastes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As with the Grande Panda, Fiat plans to offer a complete range of engines. The prototypes we have seen already show the presence of an exhaust, proof that thermal versions will indeed be on the program. We're talking, of course, about a three-cylinder 1.2 turbo petrol engine, available in a conventional version or with mild hybridization. And, to meet a certain demand, an electric 100 % version is also planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An inspired design, but wiser than the concept<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First presented as a concept car in early 2024, the production Panda Fastback takes up this dynamic silhouette, but in a wiser, production-ready version. Spy shots reveal a front end similar to that of the Grande Panda, with square, pixel-like LED headlamps and a closed grille. The profile, on the other hand, adopts a receding line towards the rear, while the stern, still heavily camouflaged, seems to hide slim, high-mounted lights and a more imposing bumper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A still mysterious name<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While the design is taking shape, the final name of the Fastback SUV remains a mystery. Behind the scenes, several names are circulating: Grizzly, Orso, or even simply Fastback. Fiat seems to be playing the suspense card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The strategy is clear: Fiat is building a veritable Panda galaxy, with a complete family by 2027 that will include the Grande Panda, the Giga Panda, the Fastback, a future pick-up and perhaps even a leisure-oriented camper model.
