The Lamborghini Diablo is one of the supercars that left their mark on the 1990s. Heir to the legendary Countach, its sharp lines and V12 engine gave it a distinctive style. But among the many versions produced by Lamborghini<\/a>The Diablo Evolution GTR, a Swiss transformation as rare as it is exclusive. And one of the ten examples built will soon be offered at auction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Diablo like no other<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If the name Evolution GTR sounds exotic, that's because it's not an official Lamborghini version. The story began in Switzerland with Roland Affolter, the brand's official importer at the time. In the early 1990s, he decided to design his own interpretation of the Diablo. The result: an extremely limited series of 10 cars called the Evolution GTR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the hood, the powertrain remains true to Lamborghini DNA: the naturally-aspirated 5.7-liter V12 still develops 485 hp and 582 Nm of torque, transmitted to the rear wheels alone via a 5-speed manual gearbox. That's enough to reach speeds of over 320 km\/h, a feat for the time. But the real difference lies elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reworked lines for added character<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Roland Affolter has focused on aerodynamics and styling. Retractable headlamps are replaced by more modern fixed headlamps, the hood incorporates an additional air intake, the wings are hollowed out with large extractors and the stern adopts a special diffuser with new lighting elements. And let's not forget the enormous adjustable spoiler, worthy of a racing car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The model to go under the hammer is dressed in a superb Viola hue, combined with a bright blue Alcantara interior. A striking visual combination that further enhances the model's exclusivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A rare piece soon to go on sale in Zurich<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This 1993 Diablo Evolution GTR has 33,824 km on the odometer and has been recently serviced directly by Lamborghini Porrentruy. Still registered in Switzerland, it has retained all its authenticity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be auctioned on November 1, 2025 at the Broad Arrow Auction in Zurich. The estimate is between CHF 350,000 and 450,000 (around \u20ac370,000 and \u20ac480,000), but some experts believe it could fetch much more, given the high demand for special versions of the Diablo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With only ten produced, the Diablo Evolution GTR is a true collector's item. It embodies an era when passionate importers dared to revisit already legendary models. For Lamborghini enthusiasts and collectors alike, the opportunity to see this model appear on the market is as rare as it is priceless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
