While the Scorpion brand once represented a veritable passionate niche in the automotive world, figures for the first half of 2025 confirm a vertiginous drop in registrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to data shared by Autonews via its Dataforce database, just 1,030 Abarths were registered in Europe in the first six months of 2025, compared with 4,867 in the same period of 2024. A drop of almost 80 %.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Historically low volumes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It's hard to get clear data on Abarth, which is often confused or buried in the Fiat figures. But in the light of the data made available by Autonews, the trend is unmistakable: at this rate, the year 2025 could end at around 2,000 registrations. This would be one of the worst results in the brand's recent history. By 2025, it may not even reach a quarter of that volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The detail that hurts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The 1,030 registrations recorded between January and June 2025 include :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>318 units of Abarth 600e<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>558 Abarth 500e<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>154 thermal models (Abarth 595 \/ 695)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The latter are likely to be unregistered stock. This means that Abarth's 100 % electric range has convinced just 872 customers in six months across the entire European market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Over-ambitious positioning?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>More than the change of engine, it's the price positioning that seems to have dealt a fatal blow. Indeed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Abarth 500e: from \u20ac36,900<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abarth 600e: from \u20ac44,900<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These prices, without promotions, seem disconnected from perceived value. For many enthusiasts, these models are worth at best \u20ac10,000 less. The Abarth soul - sporty, light, accessible - seems to have been sacrificed in favor of a marketing strategy 100 % electric... which is not finding takers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does the future hold for Abarth?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The situation is worrying. Particularly as the European market remains tough on combustion-powered vehicles, taxed heavily on their CO\u2082 emissions. Yet rumors are circulating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/en\/abarth\/dabarths-return-to-thermics-with-an-engine-used-in-rallying\/\">on Abarth's return to combustion engines<\/a>perhaps with a toned-down or partially electrified version. But nothing concrete yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is certain is that Abarth's 100 % electric strategy is a commercial failure.
