Already a formidable performer on the world's greatest racetracks, the Ferrari 296 GT3 takes things to the next level. On the occasion of the prestigious Spa 24 Hours, the Maranello-based company unveiled the 296 GT3 Evo, an evolution of its GT racing beast that promises to make life even more difficult for its German and British rivals... provided you can get your hands on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unveiled in early 2023, the Ferrari 296 GT3 has already made GT racing history in record time: over 100 races contested, resounding triumphs at Daytona, N\u00fcrburgring, Fuji and Bahrain, not to mention a GT World Challenge Europe Endurance title. But at Maranello, excellence is always a starting point. With the 296 GT3 Evo, Ferrari<\/a> aims even higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An \"Evo\" dictated by track experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While the heart of the beast remains the same, the twin-turbocharged 3-liter V6 developing some 600 hp, the Evo is anything but a simple facelift. The engine, still positioned at 120 degrees, is now positioned lower and tilted to optimize aerodynamic flow and improve weight distribution. The gearbox has a new ratio, while the chassis has been strengthened to cope even better with the stresses of endurance racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the bulk of the work was focused on aero.<\/strong> Ferrari has listened carefully to its teams, engineers and drivers to revisit the bodywork in depth: splitter, diffuser, air ducts, vortex generators and wheel arches have been redesigned using CFD simulation tools and long hours in the wind tunnel. The goal: a car that's more stable, faster in traffic, and better performing in multi-hour stints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aesthetically, the 296 GT3 Evo also stands out for its new air intakes on the front hood, designed to better cool the brakes and cockpit: a crucial point at events such as Daytona and Spa, where temperatures can put both mechanics and drivers to the test. At the rear, a new spoiler completes the aerodynamic surgeon's work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 296 GT3 Evo will be raced from the 2026 season, but Ferrari hasn't forgotten its loyal customers. For teams already equipped with the current 296 GT3, the brand is offering a modular upgrade kit. Proof of the \"Clienti\" strategy dear to Maranello: supporting its teams to stay ahead without forcing the purchase of a new chassis. How practical!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 296 GT3's track record already commands respect<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Behind this new weapon hides a lineage already crowned with victories: 24 Hours of N\u00fcrburgring, 24 Hours of Daytona, 6 Hours of Spa, Petit Le Mans, Asian Le Mans Series... The 296 GT3 has won on every continent, against strong opponents: Porsche 911 GT3 R, BMW M4 GT3, Mercedes AMG GT3 Evo, Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo and Lamborghini Hurac\u00e1n GT3 Evo 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We'll have to wait a few more months to see the 296 GT3 Evo defend its new ambitions against the big boys. But one thing is certain: at Maranello, evolution is an obsession. And the competition has been warned: there won't be enough for everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
